    • PURPOSE:To improve seizure resistance and safety by heating a billet after coating a pretreating agent with a boric acid as a main components on a billet and executing warm forging by coating the lubricant with a boron oxide as the main components on the billet. CONSTITUTION:The pretreating agent adding the binder with a boric acid as the main components is coated in a slurry shape on the surface of a billet 3 in a low temp. state. After heating the billet 3 up to about 600-700 deg.C, a lubricant with a boron oxide as the main components is coated by a spray, etc., on its surface. The billet 3 is then heated to 700-850 deg.C to execute warm forging via a container 1 and punch 2. Since the pretreating agent is coated on the billet 3 at low temp. and thereafter warm forging is executed by coating a lubricant at high temp. the oxidation of the billet is effectively checked. Consequently the seizure resistance at forging time is improved and the safety in working is improved as well because no combustible matter is used.

    • PURPOSE:To execute forming with a high efficiency without generating a chip, by inserting and holding a discoid base material so as to be rollable by a pair of rack tools having a rolling tooth part, and using a part of the rolling tooth part as a shaping part of particulars which are engaged with a worm wheel which is formed. CONSTITUTION:A pair of rack type tools 16, 18 are provided in a state that a disk- shaped base material 14 is inserted and held so as to be rollable, and as for the tools 16, 18, a tooth part 20 and a tooth part 22 are formed in one side and the other side, respectively. The tooth part 20 becomes a bitten part, and a large irregularity is formed in the discoid base material 14 by applying a large driving fore to the outside periphery of the discoid base material 14. The tooth part 22 is a shaping part for forming exactly this formed irregularity to a worm wheel of a desired size, and becomes particulars to be engaged with the formed worm wheel. In the first half part of forming, the tooth part 20 executes a swell of the tooth and a generating deformation to the outside periphery of the base material 14, and in the latter half, a finish sizing is executed by the tooth part 22. In this way, since the worm wheel is manufactured by a plastic deformation, no chip is generated, and the working efficiency is raised.

Forming rollers 42, 44 roll with pressing the outer periphery of the rolling blank 10 with rotating. And when the pressure quantity reaches the prescribed value, the outer periphery of displacement regulating roller 46, 48 comes into contact with the displacement regulating disc 30, 32 and the increased part of the pressure force is received by the displacement regulating discs 30, 32.
