    • Four flow velocity sensors 121-124 are vertically arranged in line in the same cross section of the gas flow passage of a pipeline (11). The signals from the sensors 121-124 are inputted to a mean flow velocity calculating section which calculates the mean value of the flow velocity measurements of the sensors 121-124. The mean flow velocity value calculated by the mean flow velocity calculating section is converted into a flow rate at a flow rate calculating section and the calculated flow rate is displayed on a displaying section. Since the flow rate can be accurately measured regardless of the flow velocity distribution which varies depending upon the shape, etc., of the pipeline (11), the flow rate can be accurately measured over a wide range.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas feeding method capable of eliminating treatment to cause wasteful consumption such as diffusion treatment conventionally practiced in the case where pipe pressure abnormally rises and free to carry out effective treatment in safety and in environmental countermeasures. SOLUTION: A gas pressure regulator 1 is set at a part of a conduit 2 extended to a demanding user, a recovery part 3 communicated to the conduit 2 between the gas pressure regulator 1 and the demanding user is provided in the neighbourhood of the gas pressure regulator 1, and a tank 4 for recovering free to adsorb and store gas in the conduit 2 is connected to a terminal of the recovery part 3 under this method. The tank 4 for recovery adsorbs and stores gas in the case where gas pressure in the conduit rises higher than a specified value at the time of using gas, and stored gas is discharged toward the conduit 2 in the case where it lowers by more than the specified value.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a completely new and compact governor excellent in its silence and rectifying characteristic. SOLUTION: In a governor 10, gas supplied from a primary side is adjusted to a prescribed flow rate and supplied to a secondary side under a prescribed gas pressure. The governor 10 comprises a cylindrical part formed by superposing a plurality of ring shaped members with a prescribed thickness with spaces at prescribed intervals and a piston 30 coaxial with the cylindrical part and having a cavity part 31 capable of housing the cylindrical part therein. When gas enters from one end face of the cylindrical part and is discharged from the space of a part of the cylindrical part which is not housed in the cavity part, the piston 30 is moved in the axial direction, the number of the spaces from which the gas is discharged is adjusted, so that the total flow rate of gas discharged from the spaces is controlled and the pressure of gas supplied to the secondary side is controlled.

    • PURPOSE:To make it unnecessary for an operator to go for detection and thereby to save time and labor, by a method wherein the displacement of a displacement member of the main body of an apparatus is detected sequentially in the main body of a detector constructed remote from the main body of the apparatus. CONSTITUTION:A scale 3 showing an optical pattern 2 for measuring displacement is provided movably for the main body (e.g. a governor) 1 of an apparatus for inflammable gas so that it corresponds to a displacement member 4(16, 17) of the main body 1, while a light- transmitting elements 5a and a photosensing element 5b for measuring displacement are provided corresponding to the scale 3. The light-transmitting element 5a and the photosensing element 5b are connected to the main body 6 of a detector constructed remote from the main body 1 by optical fibers 7a and 7b. A light from the main body 6 passes through the fiber 7a and is projected from the light-transmitting element 5a onto the pattern 2 of the scale 3, and a transmitted light or a reflected light therefrom is received through the photosensing element 5b and the fiber 7b. When the displacement member 4 is displaced, the scale 3 is also displaced and the photosensitivity for the transmitted light and the like of the pattern 2 is varied. Therefore, the displacement of the displacement member 4 can be detected sequentially by detecting and processing the variation in the main body.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with installation of a flowmater in a through hole by making a through hole of a spherical valve element into a partially narrowed shape and providing a through hole pressure guiding part connected to a differential pressure/flow rate converting means on a narrowed part in which the diameter is contracted. SOLUTION: A ball valve arranged between gas conduits 4a, 4b, a through hole 25 of a spherical valve element 22 has a narrowed shape formed by being partially contracted to the diameter smaller than an opening part of the gas conduit 4a, a through hole pressure guiding part 33 opened to the diameter-contracted part is connected, a pipe internal pressure guiding part 35 opening on the upstream side in the flowing direction of the through hole 25. A differential pressure/flow rate converting means 38 for obtaining the physical quantity corresponding to the gas flow rate deduces the flow rate from differential pressure between the through hole pressure guiding part 33 and the pipe internal pressure guiding part 35 in valve opening in which the spherical valve element 22 communicates the thorough hole 25 with the gas conduit 4a. While, it finds the difference between pressure of gas sealed in the through hole 25 and pressure in the gas conduit 4a in valve closing in which the spherical valve element 22 shuts off the gas conduit 4a. Therefore, gas leakage in the valve main body 20 is detected.
