    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of disposing a large number of used NaS batteries at once efficiently by a simple operation without bringing about a failure to a disposing device.
      SOLUTION: The used sodium sulfur batteries are brought into discharge-ended states, metal sodium 5 remaining in a negative electrode is reduced, and a positive electrode is brought into a one-phase region composed ofa sodium polysulfide 6 in which sulfur does not exist, and then, supplied to a blast furnace or an incinerator and treated at 700°C or higher. At this time, one or both an outer circumference container 1 or a negative electrode lid 3 of the batteries are cut deeply or provided a hole before performing incineration treatment, and thereby, the efficiency of disposing can be further improved.
