    • PURPOSE:To conduct suitable heating of hot water in accordance with season and reduce a heat radiation loss due to residual hot water by fitting a temperature sensor at a position where receives the thermal influence of both the temperature of hot water within a hot water storage tank and the external air temperature to detect the external air temperature, and using a memory element. CONSTITUTION:A comparator 8 compares the detected temperature of a temperature sensor 6 with data within a lowest temperature memory element 9, and gradually renews the lowest temperature to stores the same within the lowest temperature. A heater controller 12 conducts power supply to a heater 2, and when the detected temperature of the temperature sensor 6 has been raised up to a heating temperature which is the result of the operation of an arithmetic unit 11, the heater controller 12 stops the power supply to the heater 2. In winter season where the external air temperature is low, the temperature sensor 6 detects a temperature which is lower than the temperature of hot water within a hot water storage tank 1. Therefore, the temperature within the hot water storage tank 1 becomes higher than the result of the operation of the arithmetic unit 11. In view of the above matters, the amount of hot water stored in the electric hot water heater can be reduced in term of the amount of hot water of 45 deg.C, and increased in summer season.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the light loss of a luminous tube and improve the luminous efficiency by forming a light reflecting film on the facing portion of tube walls separated and facing to each other of a luminous tube bent in a U-shape and made in a saddle shape. CONSTITUTION:A luminous tube 13 is stored in a globe 11. The bulb 17 of the luminous tube 13 is formed in a bent section 16 with a near U-shape at the middle between both end sections 19, 19 of the straight line bulb and is also formed in a pair of U-type sections 14, 15 bent nearly in a U-type in a direction nearly at a right angle to a plane including the U-shape between the bent section 16 and both end sections 19, 19. Thereby, straight line sections 20a-20d connecting the end sections 19, 19 and tops of U-type sections 14, 15, and the tops and the bent section 16 are arranged in parallel at diagonal positions of a square to form a saddle shape. A light reflecting film 25 is coated on the inner surface of facing portions between the straight line sections 20a and 20c, and between 20b and 20d along the tube axis direction, then a phosphor film 22 is coated on the inner surface of the bulb 17. Accordingly, the light loss of the luminous tube can be reduced and its luminous efficiency can be improved.
