摘要： Search in stocks of data, particularly on optical media, is intended to be optimized in terms of the time required for the search. It is therefore proposed that the search be carried out in two steps. In a first search step, the entire database is scanned on the disk storage medium. In a second search step, executed in parallel, intermediate results from the first search step are searched. This allows the number of skips on a disk to be reduced, which results in increases of speed, particularly in the case of optical drives.

摘要： Es wird das Konzept eines Peer-to-Peer-Netzwerkes von Verteilten Speichergeräten umrissen. Um gespeicherte Inhalte verwalten zu können, sollen die zukünftig mit den Audio-, Video- und anderen Daten von z. B. Spielen ausgesendeten Metadaten mit Datenbanken verwaltet werden, die in die Speichergeräte integriert werden. Zur Datenwiedergewinnung werden die mit dem zugehörigen Speicherinhalt verknüpften Metadaten anstelle der Inhalte durchsucht. Zur Steuerung des Systems werden sogenannte Steuerungsmetadaten zwischen den Geräten ausgetauscht. A data stream is recorded in data blocks (B0, B1, ...) on the optical disk. A spare data area (S) is kept blank on the storage medium and used for storing a defect data block reconstructed by using the error correction block.

摘要： The DVD Stream Recording standard defines application pack-ets (AP_PCK) as the logically smallest units created from the input data stream during recording. Usually the conver-sion from a point on the time axis to a corresponding appli-cation packet is realised by using a mapping list available in the navigation data. However, depending on the target time and a Stream Object selected, the match found can vary significantly. A method is proposed that allows editing a recorded stream of application packets with higher precision. The stream comprises at least a first application packet having a first arrival time stamp (APAT) and a subsequent second application packet having a second arrival time stamp (APAT). For editing the recorded stream a discrete time is input that is a start time or an end time and has a value between the first arrival time stamp and the second arrival time stamp. The discrete time is mapped onto the first or the second arrival time stamp, and the recorded stream is edited correspondingly.

摘要： In modern digital video recorders not only the video/audio data stream itself is stored in data packets on the medium but also additional information about the stream. Part of this additional information is navigation information for random access to segments within the recorded material. A playlist is used that includes a sequence of substructure information data carrying start and end time data and addressing mode information for the segments. The substructure information data provide information describing each segment within one recording and where the segment data can be found on the storage medium. Because the playlist level does not include addressing mode information for the segments, segments having any addressing mode can be replayed using a single playlist.
