    • PURPOSE:To prevent a safety valve from blowing up due to a columnar resonance phenomenon under pressure less than specified one by specifying the inlet diameter and length of a nozzle neck in the nozzle neck for a safety valve, which is installed normal to a plant pipeline in a power plant and the like, and has the safety valve installed at its tip end. CONSTITUTION:In a device where a nozzle neck provided with a safety valve 4 at its tip end is connected perpendicularly to a mother pipeline (plant pipeline) 1, and its safety is assured by letting the safety valve 4 be automatically released when pressure within a pipline exceeds a specified value, a cut 3 of 45 deg. is applied to the whole circumference of an inlet for a safety valve nozzle neck 2. The cut 3 is formed in such a way that a nozzle neck inlet diameter do satisfies the relation of do=(1.05 to 1.4)d with respect to a nozzle neck inner diameter d. Besides, the amount of cutting and the length of the nozzle neck are so determined that the natural frequency fs of the safety valve, cavity noise frequency fc, and columnar resonance frequency fn do not coincide with one another so as to be sufficiently separated from one another. By this constitution, columnar resonance can effectively be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a priming apparatus for use in a pump wherein effective discharge of a reserve pump is accelerated by connecting suction filters or the lower parts of a normal and the reserve pumps by a uniform pressure pipe and also connecting the uniform pressure pump to a common discharge pipe by means of a valve. CONSTITUTION:Check valves 5-1, 6-1 and stop valves 12, 13 are fully opened, and a stop valve 15 is fully closed during operation a normal pump 2-1. A suction pipe of a reserve pump 2-2 is filled with a liquid in a tank 1 by the vacuum action of the normal pump and by means of a uniform pressure pipe 11. If the normal pump develops trouble, the effective discharge is immediately obtained by running the reserve pump 2-2. At repairs for the normal pump 2-1, the stop valve 13 is closed. Priming to a filter 3-1 at the normal pump side is carried out, making use of the discharge liquid from the reserve pump 2-2 which is fed through a feed pipe 14 and the uniform pressure pipe 11 by opening the stop valve 15.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the increase of opening/closing torque for a ball valve and prevent the malfunction by providing a means of reducing the increase of the valve opening/closing torque as a result of particles contained in conductive fluid passing therethrough precipitated and fixed onto seats. CONSTITUTION:A body 1 which constitutes a floating type of ball valve 10 holds a ball 3 inside via a drive shaft 2, and at the inner edges on the entrance side 4 and on the exit side 5 teflon seats 6 in contact with the outer periphery of the ball 3 are formed. In the body 1, cleaning liquid entrances 8 and a cleaning liquid exit 9 each of which penetrates through a jacket 7 from the outside face are provided. Fluid with the same nature as conductive fluid passing through the ball valve 10 is supplied from the cleaning liquid entrances 8 to the jacket 7 and drained from the cleaning liquid exit 9 for all time circulation. In this way, there is no precipitation of particles included in the conductive fluid. the increase of valve opening/closing torque is prohibited and the malfunction is prevented.
