    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new gene, capable of coding a Balanus granulatus Hiro- derived G protein bonding type receptor having a specific amino acid sequence and useful for elucidating properties of the receptor gene deeply related to an attachment mechanism of the Balanus granulatus Hiro, a protecting means, etc., against the attachment of the Balanus granulatus Hiro. SOLUTION: This new gene is capable of coding a Balanus granulatus Hiro- derived G protein bonding type receptor having an amino acid sequence represented by the formula or an amino acid sequence substantially same as that represented by the formula and useful for clarifying properties of a G protein bonding type receptor gene deeply related to the attachment mechanism of the Balanus granulatus Hiro and development, etc., of a protecting means against the attachment of the Balanus granulatus Hiro. The new gene is obtained by extracting a DNA from a cypris larva of Balanus amphitrite as a starting substance according to a conventional method, designing a primer from the gene of a serotonin receptor which is the G protein bonding type receptor, carrying out the polymerase chain reactional(PCR) method for the DNA of the Balanus amphitrite using the designed primer and cloning the gene.
