    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation control method of a tandem rolling mill, enabling rolling under high pressure at a latter-stage stand of the tandem rolling mill necessary for production of fine-grained steel or the like, and to provide a method for producing hot-rolled steel sheets using the same.SOLUTION: The operation control method of the tandem rolling mill includes a first step S11 of determining an exit-side sheet thickness at each stand when rolling the constant part of a rolled material, and a second step S15 of determining an exit-side sheet thickness at each stand when rolling the end part of the rolled material so that a pre-fastening load is not larger than a set value. The rolled material is rolled to become the exit-side sheet thickness determined in the second step at least until the endmost part of the rolled material is bitten in each stand, the constant part of the rolled material is rolled to the exit-side sheet thickness determined in the first step by means of the N-m+1-th stand to the N-th stand, and the exit-side sheet thickness from the N-m+1-th stand to the N-th stand determined in the second step is larger than the exit-side sheet thickness determined in the first step. The method for producing hot-rolled steel sheets is also provided.
