    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy sheet excellent in warm plastic formability, a production method thereof, and a formed body produced by performing the warm plastic forming on this sheet.SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy sheet is produced by giving a prescribed strain to a rolled sheet RS that is not subjected to a heat treatment aiming at recrystallization and by not subjecting the rolled steel sheet RS to the heat treatment after the giving of the strain. The strain is given in such a way that: the rolled sheet RS is heated in a heating furnace 10; the heated rolled sheet RS is passed between heated rollers 21 to give bending to the rolled sheet RS; and the strain-given sheet has a half peak width of 0.2 deg or more and 0.59 deg or less in a (0004) diffraction peak in a monochromatic X-ray diffraction. The alloy sheet forms continuous recrystallization during warm plastic forming through the use of the remaining strain, thereby exhibiting high plastic deformability.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a section observation sample obtaining a clean machining section without being affected by the size of the sample, when manufacturing the section observation sample by etching using ion beams.
      SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing a section observation sample by covering an upper portion of a workpiece with a shielding plate, and etching a non-covered part by ion beams, an angle formed by the surface to be machined in the workpiece before machining and the bottom surface of the shielding plate is sharp. Furthermore, in the manufacturing method of a section observation sample, the angle ranges from 40 to 84°. The depth of an etched machining surface in the surface to be machined is not less than 50 μm.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy member which has excellent corrosion resistance.
      SOLUTION: The magnesium alloy member includes: a base material made of a magnesium alloy comprising >7.5 to 12 mass% Al; and a corrosion prevention layer formed on the surface of the base material by chemical conversion treatment. Grains made of an intermetallic compound including at least either Al or Mg and having the average grain size of 0.05 to 1 μm are dispersed into the base material. The total area of the grains is 1 to 20 area%. The corrosion prevention layer includes: a lower layer; and a surface layer in order from the base material side, and the surface layer is denser than the lower layer. In the magnesium alloy member, owing to a large Al content in the base material, the corrosion resistance of the base material itself is high, and by providing the dense layer on the surface side of the corrosion prevention layer, a corrosive liquid hardly infiltrates into the base material, and its corrosion resistance is excellent. By providing the porous lower layer, the corrosion prevention layer hardly peels from the base material when impact or the like is applied, and high corrosion resistance can be easily maintained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnesium alloy member having low surface resistance and excellent corrosion resistance.SOLUTION: This magnesium alloy member includes a base material comprising a magnesium alloy containing ≥5 mass% Al, and an anticorrosion layer formed on the surface of the base material by a corrosion prevention treatment. In the base material, particles are dispersed, which comprise a deposit (typically an intermetallic compound containing at least either of Al and Mg), and whose average particle size is 50-1,500 nm, and the total area of the particles is 1-20%. Deposit particles intervene in the anticorrosion layer so that a part is exposed to the surface of the anticorrosion layer from the base material via the inside of the anticorrosion layer, and the total area of the particles (exposed particles) existing in the anticorrosion layer is ≥10%. The magnesium alloy member has excellent corrosion resistance because of including the anticorrosion layer, and a resistance value can be lowered without damaging corrosion resistance because the exposed particles exist in the anticorrosion layer.
