    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently acquiring a nucleic acid which encodes a reductase, and also to provide a nucleic acid encoding reductase and the like acquirable by the method.SOLUTION: A method and the like for acquiring a nucleic acid encoding a reductase are provided, the method comprising: (1) performing a nucleic acid amplification reaction with a DNA sample as a template to acquire an amplification product; (2) fusing the amplification product and a double-stranded vector DNA functionable as an expression vector in a host cell upon cyclization in the presence of a DNA polymerase having an endogenous 3'-5' exonuclease activity to acquire a cyclic recombinant expression vector containing the amplification product; (3) introducing the cyclic recombinant expression vector into the host cell to acquire transformants; (4) selecting a transformant having an activity for reducing the substrate; and (5) acquiring a nucleic acid which encodes a reductase having the activity, from the transformant selected in the step (4).
