    • A photo detective LCD device includes a light pen. The light pen includes a body, a driving pulse generating module and a light generating module. The body has a pen shape, and an end of the body includes an opening through which light exits. The driving pulse generating module is disposed in the body and generates first and second driving power pulses having first and second frequencies, respectively. The light generating module generates first and second light in response to the first and second driving power pulses, respectively. The first and second light flickers in a third frequency and a fourth frequency, respectively. The power consumption is reduced, and the brightness of sensing light is enhanced. The light pen generates light having at least two different frequencies, and the display device recognizes light generated from the light pen effectively. Therefore, the display device may operate without failure.

    • A method of detecting a touch position and a touch panel for performing the method are disclosed. In the above-mentioned method, a plurality of scan signals is sequentially supplied to a plurality of first sensor lines arranged in a first direction. Then, at least one of the scan signals is analyzed based on touch events, which is transferred from the first sensor lines to a plurality of second sensor lines arranged in a second direction substantially across to the first direction, and then at least one of touch positions is detected. Therefore, a plurality of scan signals is sequentially applied to the first sensor lines in the first direction, so that a plurality of touch events is simultaneously detected so that a plurality of touch positions may be detected.

    • A display panel includes an array substrate and an opposite substrate. The array substrate includes a plurality of data lines, a plurality of gate lines, a plurality of first signal lines, a plurality of second signal lines and a plurality of pixels. Each of the pixels includes a pixel electrode and a common electrode insulated from the pixel electrode. The opposite substrate includes a plurality of connecting members. At least one of the connecting members is electrically connected to at least one of the first signal lines and the second signal lines by an externally provided pressure. Thus, when an externally provided pressure is applied to the display panel in order to perform a touch screen function, an alignment of the liquid crystal molecules disposed on the array substrate may not be substantially changed, and a display quality may be improved.

    • A display device includes: a plurality of sensing data lines; a plurality of sensing units that output sensing signals through the plurality of sensing data lines; a signal selector that selects one sensing signal among the plurality of sensing signals; an automatic voltage adjusting unit that, when one sensing signal is selected by the signal selector, performs a controlling operation so as to allow a magnitude of the selected sensing signal to be in a predetermined range; and a voltage generator that adjusts the magnitude of the voltage applied to the sensing data lines based on a control signal output from the automatic voltage adjusting unit. According to the voltage adjusting operation, the sensing signal output through the sensing data line is always in an appropriate range. As a result, the touch determining operation on the sensing units can be accurately performed, so that it is possible to improve reliability of the sensing units.

    • A display device including a plurality of sensing units, a plurality of first sensing signal lines, a first output unit, a first sensing output line, and a sensing signal processor. The sensing units are arranged in a matrix and generate a detection signal according to user contact. The first sensing signal lines transfer the detection signal of the sensing unit arranged in a first direction. The second sensing signal lines transfer the detection signal of the sensing units arranged in a second direction that is perpendicular to the first direction. The first output unit sequentially outputs the detection signals of the first sensing signal lines. The first sensing output line extends in the second direction for transferring the detection signal of the first output unit. The sensing signal processor determines whether contact is made or not by processing the detection signals of the first sensing signal lines and the second sensing signal lines. The non-display area of the liquid crystal panel assembly can be reduced by sequentially outputting the sensing data signals of the row and column sensing signal lines through the small amount of wiring. Therefore, an IC can be reduced in size.
