    • A wireless LAN device and a method of monitoring the status of a wireless LAN are disclosed. The wireless LAN device according to the present invention can determine the status of a wireless LAN using a variety of information obtained by performing media access control (MAC) without additional packet transmission/reception with a correspondent wireless LAN device. Accordingly, if the wireless LAN device of the present invention is various kinds of wireless A/V (Audio/Video) devices that provide the A/V streaming, the data transmission can be optimally made in accordance with the status of the monitored wireless LAN. Further, since there is no additional communication needed to monitor the status of a wireless LAN, the present invention has advantages in that the processing speed of the wireless LAN device is improved and the traffic of the wireless LAN is not increased.

    • A channel selecting method for a Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) using remote scanning and a WLAN system thereof is disclosed in which a wireless environment is comprehensively discriminated to select an optimum channel by information. The information is obtained from stations of each node (STA) in a wireless network and is not local information near the Access Point. Channel selection is configured to be automatically implemented during an initial configuration of the WLAN and during operation. The method includes the AP requesting remote scanning for each node (STA) comprising the WLAN. Each node transmits a remote scanning result to the AP. An optimum channel is discriminated and a determination is made as to whether transfer has been made to the channel based on the information received from each node. The AP, transferring to the optimum channel, thus discriminated to form a new WLAN if channel transfer is implemented according to the discrimination.

    • An LCD panel includes a plurality of gate lines and gate electrodes formed on a substrate and a gate insulating film formed on the substrate including the gate lines and the gate electrodes. A semiconductor film is formed in a region on the gate insulating film and an ohmic contact film formed on the semiconductor film. A plurality of data lines cross the gate lines; a source electrode is formed on the ohmic contact film; and a pixel electrode is formed in a pixel region defined by the gate and data lines. A drain electrode is formed on the ohmic contact film, and has an uneven width. Since a portion of drain electrode that overlaps with the gate electrode has a smaller width than a width of other portions of the drain electrode, variation in an area of the drain electrode overlapped with the gate electrode is small, so that variation of the parasitic capacitance can be reduced, thereby improving picture quality.

    • A bracket for a disk drive, including: a base plate containing the disk drive; a side wall portion vertically protruded from an end portion of the base plate; and a displacement portion extended from the side wall portion and bending due to a vibration transmitted by making contact with the disk drive. Accordingly, a bracket according to the present invention has an improved buffering ability without installing a buffer. Also, the bracket can not only effectively protect a disk drive from an external impact but also be applied to an electric device such as a portable device. Also, a bracket according to another embodiment can prevent mutual interference between circuits provided on the bracket.

    • A disk drive assembly including a disk drive, a bracket for containing the disk drive, and a damper for absorbing an impact transmitted to the disk drive. The damper may have a shape of a ring to encircle a corner of the disk drive and may be formed of an elastic material to buffer an impact transmitted between the disk drive and the bracket. Particularly, since the width and/or diameter of the damper may be formed with a minimized size, the damper is capable of providing sufficient buffering properties. In addition, the space occupied by the damper may further be minimized. Thus, since the space occupied by the disk drive assembly may be reduced, it is possible to favorably apply the assembly to a portable electronic device.
