摘要： Disclosed is a coated welded can having a metal-exposed face inclusive of a seam covered with a coating, wherein the coating comprises at least one organic resin coating layer and at least one metal film, and at least the portion of the organic resin coating that adheres to the metal-exposed face is comprised of a copolymer of ethylene with a carbonyl group-containing, ethylenically unsaturated monomer or a blend containing this copolymer.In this coated welded can, the adhesion of the coating, the corrosion resistance of the seam and the appearance characteristics of the seam are highly improved. Furthermore, the coating of this welded can is not damaged by such processing as flanging, beading or double-seaming or when the welded can is subjected to the retort sterilization.

摘要： Disclosed is a process for preparation of metal vessels, which comprises lap-bonding circumferential open end portions of outer and inner members, each consisting of a formed seamless metal cup, to each other through an adhesive, said process being characterized by fitting both the outer and inner members to each other through an adhesive layer interposed between the open end portions of both the members, heating the fitted portions of both the outer and inner members so as to melt the adhesive layer, and cooling the fitted portions so that the temperatures of the fitted portions of both the outer and inner members are substantially equal to each other just before solidification of the adhesive layer and the adhesive is filled between both the open end portions.

摘要： Disclosed is a process for the preparation of metal vessels, which comprises lap-bonding both the circumferential end portions of upper and lower members, each consisting of a seamless formed metal cup, through a layer of a hot adhesive interposed therebetween, wherein a high frequency induction heating coil is arranged so that the coil covers a part, smaller than the semicircle, of the circumferential portion to be formed into a seam, which circumferential portion consists of said end portions engaged with each other through the hot adhesive layer, electricity is applied to the heating coil to induce an eddy current passing through said end portions and the circumferential portion and the heating coil are rotated relatively to each other, whereby both the end portions are heated and a seam is formed by heat bonding.

摘要： The present invention provides a strong heat seal to a thermoplastic polyester container which can withstand hot water treatment such as retorting, and to a heat sealed container. A heat-sealable closure is also provided. It is composed of a laminate consisting of a heat-seal layer comprising as a main component a copolymerized polyester resin having a softening temperature of 120.degree. C. and a glass-transition temperature of 30.degree. to 85.degree. C., a metal substrate, and an epoxy-phenol resin primer layer interposed between them. Preferably, the container has a heat seal portion composed of a thermoplastic polyester having a fusion temperature in the crystalline state of at least 200.degree. C. This polyester portion is oriented and crystallized or heat-crystallized.

摘要： A process and an apparatus for producing a welded can body having an organic coated welded part are provided in which the exposed metal portion on the inside of the welded part of the can body and its vicinity is covered with a tape of an organic resin alone or a mixture of an organic resin with an inorganic material such as a pigment, a metal, etc. The resin tape is entirely supported by a mandrel to be disposed inside the can body, and pressed against the inside surface of the welded part and its vicinity. By heating the welded part of the can body, the resin tape is heated during pressing.

摘要： An improvement in a method for producing a welded metallic can body. The method involves holding and pressing a lap portion of the side marginal portions of a can body-like structure, which has been formed by bending a metal blank into a cylindrical shape, along its entire length between a pair of opposing parallel wire electrodes placed on the opposing surfaces of parallel electrodes, and passing an electric current across the parallel electrodes for a predetermined period of time during the pressing to subject the lap portion to resistance welding. At least one of the parallel electrodes is divided longitudinally into two or more portions electrically insulated from each other, and an electric current is passed through at least one of them independently from the other portions so that the temperature rise in the lap portion of the can body-like structure becomes uniform. Also disclosed is an apparatus for producing a welded metallic can body in accordance with the aforesaid method.

A base portion is utilized for supporting the holders so as to be opened and closed and for holding the molten resin together with the holders. The molten resin discharged from an extrusion-forming machine and cut by a cutter is held by the holding unit, and it fed from the holding unit to a female mold of a compression-0molding machine.
