    • A video data recording device for sufficiently protecting privacy even before a mask target enters into a screen. The video data recording device includes a reference information storage unit in which reference information including predetermined features is recorded; a video data acquisition unit which acquires video data and sequentially outputs the video data to a video buffer; a similarity determining unit which compares newest video data and the reference information, and extracts partial information determined to be similar to the reference information from the newest video data; a relation determining unit which compares video data output to the video buffer before the newest video data, and the partial information determined to be similar, and extracts partial information determined to be related to the partial information determined to be similar; and an imaging recording I/F unit which records the video data and the related information related to the partial information in a recording medium.

    • A backlight device wherein LEDs which are arranged side by side at a first arrangement interval (P1) are provided to each LED unit. The LED units are mounted to a flexible board at a second arrangement interval. A light guide plate is disposed in such a manner that an end surface thereof is spaced from the LEDs by a distance (H). The light guide plate is disposed so as to satisfy the following relationship: first arrangement interval (P1)≦distance (H)≦second arrangement interval (P2). Specifically, the LEDs are arranged side by side in such a manner that the first arrangement interval (P1) is not less than 0.1 mm but not greater than 3 mm and the second arrangement interval (P2) is not less than 5 mm but not greater than 15 mm. The light guide plate is disposed in such a manner that the distance (H) is not less than 1 mm but not greater than 7 mm.

    • A disc-shaped information recording medium includes a laminate of recording layers on and from which an information signal can be optically recorded and reproduced from one side of the medium. Data areas are provided in the recording layers, respectively. The information signal can be recorded on and reproduced from the data areas while a laser beam emitted from an optical pickup is applied to the data areas. Optical recording test areas are provided in the recording layers, respectively. A test signal can be recorded on and reproduced from the optical recording test areas to decide optimum power values of the laser beam for signal recording. The test areas are out of overlap as viewed in a direction of propagation of the laser beam.
