    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fermentation production technology for converting a low molecular plant-originated low molecular mixture containing vanillin, syringaldehyde, vanillic acid, syringic acid and protocatechuic acid produced by a low molecule-forming technology such as a chemical decomposition method such as hydrolysis, oxidative decomposition, solvolysis, etc., or physicochemical decomposition utilizing supercritical water and supercritical organic solvent of a plant aromatic component having various chemical structures and complex high molecular structures, through the multiple stages of enzymatic reactions to a single intermediate substance, 2-pyrone-4,6-dicarboxylic acid (PDC) in a high yield by designing and constructing with a recombinant DNA technology. SOLUTION: The gene sequences encoding 4 kinds of enzymes (benzaldehyde dehydrogenase, demethylase, protocatechuate 4,5-dioxygenase and 4-carboxy-2-hydroxymuconate-6-semialdehyde dehydrogenase), and a new double strand DNA molecule obtained by joining gene domains associated with the regulation of their expressions are provided.
