    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide main column members of a steel pipe tower filled with concrete having a high workability at a low cost, and a construction method for steel pipe tower filled with concrete.
      SOLUTION: Hollow steel pipes are connected together in up-down direction, and a connected body 3 of the hollow steel pipes is assembled. A filler 5 is placed under pressure at a low speed from a filler inlet 7 to near a bottom end portion of a preliminary mortar filler inlet 8 where the top of filled mortar is located. Placing of the filler 5 is interrupted, and a predetermined amount of preliminary mortar 6 first is poured above the top position of the filler 5 from the mortar filler inlet 8. A top hoper 16 is installed to the highest portion of the connected body 3 of the hollow steel piles, and the filler 5 is poured again under pressure until the top end portion reaches near an intermediate portion of the top hoper 16. Upon completion of pouring the filler 5 under pressure, surplus filler 5 remaining in the top hopper 16 is discarded when sedimentation is completed before the hardening of the filler 5, then the top hopper 16 is removed and the top surface of the connected body 3 of the hollow steel pipes is leveled.
