摘要： A plate assembly for ink-jet-type printing head assures a smooth ink flow and prohibits fluctuation in ink discharge quantity and speed to realize a satisfactory printing quality. A plurality of plates are bonded each other by using a thermoplastic-resin intermediate sheet having a shape corresponding to the opposite surfaces of adjacent plates. The intermediate sheet has ink passage openings of a dimension which includes a reference contour which is an axial projection of a corresponding opening in the plate. The ink passage opening in the intermediate sheet has a periphery which is set-back from the reference contour by a predetermined amount in the reference direction connecting adjacent ink passage openings, and by an increased amount in other directions. The plates and the intermediate sheet are superimposed one above the other and subsequently heated under pressure to form an integral plate assembly.

Each electrode and the substrate are held in contact with a recording medium or a planar intermediate member interposed between the recording medium and the recording head, so that an electric current is applied to the recording medium or the intermediate member. The substrate has a distal end portion extending from a proximal portion for contact with the recording medium and the intermediate member. The distal end portion has a constant thickness smaller than that of the proximal portion, as viewed in a direction perpendicular to a direction of extension of the end portion. The distal end portion is made of a material whose wear resistance is lower than that of the electrode.

摘要： Disclosed is a display device comprising a light-shielding plate including a metal thin film formed on a first principal surface of an optical waveguide plate for introducing the light thereinto and including light-transmitting sections formed at portions corresponding to picture elements to make penetration through the optical waveguide plate, and shutter sections provided opposingly to a second principal surface of the light-shielding plate, for selectively intercepting the light transmitted through the light-transmitting sections in accordance with an input signal. The shutter sections include actuator elements provided corresponding to the large number of light-transmitting sections so that the light to be transmitted through the light-transmitting sections is intercepted substantially in synchronization with the operation of the actuator elements. Accordingly, it is possible to improve the contrast and improve the image quality of a displayed image.

The recording head has an insulating layer including an electrically insulating material and at least one metallic sheet positioned in the electrically insulating material. This insulating layer is disposed between an array of the plurality of recording electrodes and the return circuit electrode or electrodes, so as to form a multi-layer structure which includes the recording electrodes, return circuit electrodes(s) and insulating layer. The recording and return circuit electrodes are formed of an electrically conductive material which has a higher degree of water resistance than that of the insulating layer.

The cathode of the present invention includes an electroconductive cathode current collector, a plurality of plate-like particle formed of a cathode active material, and a binder containing microparticles formed of the cathode active material and being smaller than the plate-like particles. The plate-like particles are formed so as to have an aspect ratio of 4 to 50. The plate-like particles are arranged such that the particles cover the surface of the cathode current collector surface at a percent area of 85 to 98%. The binder is disposed so as to intervene between two adjacent plate-like particles.

The cathode active material precursor particle is capable of forming a cathode active material for a lithium secondary battery including a lithium composite oxide having a layered rock salt structure through lithium incorporation. The particles are characterized by the cathode active material precursor particle being formed into a substantially spherical shape and includes therein a large number of voids in a substantially uniform manner; and the cathode active material precursor particle has: an average particle diameter D50 of 0.5 to 5 μm; a specific surface area of 3 to 25 m2/g; and a relative tap density, which is a value obtained by dividing a tap density by a theoretical density of a material constituting the cathode active material precursor particle, of 0.25 to 0.4.
