    • The present invention provides a process for the preparation of Ti-doped alkali metal and/or alkaline- earth metal aluminium hydride, comprising intimately mixing: an alkali metal and/or alkaline-earth metal aluminium hydride, or at least one alkali metal hydride and/or alkaline- earth metal hydride, metallic aluminium and H 2 , with in the range of from 0.5 to 20 mol% of Ti (OCH 3 ) 4 , based on the moles of A1 in the prepared Ti-doped alkali metal and/or alkaline-earth metal aluminium hydride. The invention further relates to a Ti-doped alkali metal and/or alkaline-earth metal aluminium hydride, obtainable by a process according to the invention, a hydrogen storage material comprising a Ti-doped alkali metal and/or alkaline-earth metal aluminium hydride according the invention, a process for reversibly desorbing and/or absorbing hydrogen, the use of a Ti- doped alkali metal and/or alkaline-earth metal aluminium hydride according to invention to store hydrogen and the use of Ti (OCH 3 ) 4 as Ti-dopant for an alkali metal and/or alkaline-earth metal aluminium hydride.

    • The present invention provides a method of liquefying a hydrocarbon stream such as natural gas, the method at least comprising the steps of: (a) providing a hydrocarbon stream (10) at a first location (2), wherein the first location is situated onshore; (b) treating the hydrocarbon stream (10) in the first location (2) thereby obtaining a treated hydrocarbon stream (20); (c) transporting the treated hydrocarbon stream (20) via a pipeline (4) over a distance of at least 2 km to a second location (3), wherein the second location is situated off-shore; (d) liquefying the treated hydrocarbon stream (20) at the second location (3) thereby obtaining liquefied hydrocarbon product (50) at atmospheric pressure. The invention further provides an apparatus (1) for liquefying a hydrocarbon stream (10) such as a natural gas stream, the apparatus (1) at least comprising: - one or more treating units (11, 12, 13, 14, 18, 19,...) at a first location (2) for obtaining a treated hydrocarbon stream (20), wherein the first location is situated onshore; - at least one liquefaction plant (21) at a second location (3) for producing a liquefied hydrocarbon product (50) at atmospheric pressure, wherein the second location is situated off-shore; - a pipeline (4) for transporting the treated hydrocarbon stream (20) to the second location (3) over a distance of at least 2 km.
