摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid holding body for lithium secondary battery which can hold an electrolyte in an electrode or in the interface of the electrode with a separator so as to prevent liquid shortage in the electrode while suppressing the deposition and growth of dendrite, and a lithium secondary battery using the same which can achieve a cycle life to be used for industrial application.SOLUTION: A liquid holding body 3 for lithium secondary battery which is obtained by impregnating or immersing an organic electrolyte in an electrode group wound or laminated through the liquid holding body 3, a separator between a positive electrode plate 2 and a negative electrode plate 1 has a multilayer structure with two hydrophilic fiber layers (A and B) different in porosity, and the porosity (40%-80%)of the fiber layer A on the interface side with the negative electrode plate 1 is smaller than the porosity (60%-90%) of the fiber layer B on the interface side with the positive electrode plate 2, and the average porosity in the fiber layer as a whole is 50% or more. The fiber layer is mainly composed of cellulose fiber, and a negative electrode active material to be used in the negative electrode plate 1 is carbon material.
