    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem caused by depolarization of linearly polarized light in an optical system such as laser device and flat panel display and, in particular, in manufacturing electronic components.
      SOLUTION: A device is disposed so as to prevent or reduce the depolarization of linearly polarized light caused during the transmission of light through crystals having a {111} or {100} crystal plane and a or crystal axis. The device is characterized in that the surface of the crystals is formed with the {111} or {100} crystal plane onto which the linearly polarized light impinges at an angle of 45 to 75° and the crystals are disposed so that the light after entering the crystal propagates as parallel as possible to the or crystal axis and/or that the system for preventing the formation of a temperature gradient in the crystal comprises a tempering unit.
