摘要： A drive circuit for a display device including a display panel for displaying an image line by line has a data register. The data register is used to store optional data in response to a control signal, to overwrite the stored optional data with display data, and to prepare display data for a given line of the display panel. The data prepared in the data register is transferred to the display panel to display the given line of the display panel. The drive circuit is capable of supplementing display data if the display data is improper for the display, thereby securing the quality of the displayed images.

摘要： A digital data line driver includes a data input circuit for fetching data in response to an external clock, a reference voltage supply circuit having reference voltages corresponding to a plurality of gray-scale levels, a selector circuit for selecting a specified reference voltage representing the data from among those of the reference power supply circuit, and an output circuit for outputting the reference voltage selected by the selector circuit as display data onto data lines. The data input circuit and output circuit have a data-crossing function for switching data between adjoining channels of the data lines according to an external data switching control signal. Owing to this configuration, deterioration of liquid crystal can be prevented and a better display can be attained with suppressed flickers. At the same time, the picture-frame space can be reduced.

摘要： An external port control register of an input/output port outputs a setting value signal indicating a setting value in order that either a general-purpose input/output port function or a functional block input/output pin function is set to an external pin. A selector of the input/output port connects either a general output path or an output path of a functional block receiving a functional block input signal, to the external pin according to the setting value signal. An interrupting circuit interrupts the supply of the functional block input signal to the functional block when the setting value signal indicates the general-purpose input/output port function. Consequently, any register circuit designating whether to enable or disable the supply of the functional block input signal to the functional block need not be provided in particular, which can eliminate the need for a redundant setting process in switching the pin function of the external pin.
