The first vertical alignment functional group 33 includes a cyclic compound and is aligned substantially perpendicularly to the substrate 191. The first pre-tilt functional group 35a is cross-linked to the second pre-tilt functional group and tilted with respect to the substrate 191.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealant, a display having the sealant, and a method for manufacturing the display.SOLUTION: The sealant contains a photoinitiator containing an oxime ester compound, a curable resin, a curing agent, a coupling agent, a filler and the like. The display includes a first substrate, a second substrate opposite to the first substrate, a liquid crystal interposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, and a sealing pattern formed along the peripheral part of the first substrate and joining the first substrate and the second substrate together. The sealing pattern is formed by curing a sealant. The method for manufacturing the display includes forming a sealing pattern by applying a sealant having the photoinitiator containing the oxime ester compound along a peripheral part of the first substrate, dropping a liquid crystal onto the first substrate, disposing the second substrate on the first substrate so as to be opposed to the first substrate, and joining the first substrate to the second substrate by the sealing pattern.

An alignment film provided for at least one of the first display plate and the second display plate includes first poly-siloxane and second poly-siloxane disposed on the first poly-siloxane. A first part of a silicon atom of the second poly-siloxane is coupled with a vertical functional group mutually acting with the liquid crystal molecule of the liquid crystal layer, and is coupled with a first pre-tilt functional group aligned to tilt the liquid crystal molecule of the liquid crystal layer relative to the first or second display plate. The coupling structure of the second poly-siloxane is different from that of the first poly-siloxane.
