    • The invention provides a sizing agent with good stability, particularly which is rapid in getting started in the neutral zone and a method of producing the same.A sizing agent for papermaking in neutral zone is characterized by a main component of said sizing agent being selected from the group consisting of a diester of rosin-based substances having a dicarboxylic acid or acid anhydride group expressed by the following formula (I), ##STR1## (in which R.sub.1 represents a rosin acid residue or maleopimaric acid, R.sub.2 represents a dihydric alcohol residue and R.sub.3 represents a maleopimaric acid residue); and 2) a polyester reaction product expressed by the following formula (I'), ##STR2## (in which R'.sub.1 and R'.sub.5 represent a rosin acid residue or an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated polybasic carboxylic acid added rosin residue, at least one of them represents .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated polybasic carboxylic acid added rosin residue, R'.sub.2 and R'.sub.4 represent polyhydric alcohol residues, R'.sub.3 represents a polybasic carboxylic acid residue being at least tribasic, x and z are integers of 1 to 3, y is 0, 1 or 2 and m and n are 1 or 2); and 3) a mixture comprising a rosin, a rosin modified by .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated carboxylic acid and/or or an anhydride thereof and a polyhydric alcohol ester of rosin.

    • An image transfer system has an extracting section that extracts image areas from a document image read by a reading section. A digital signature providing section provides sender's digital signatures to the image areas according to degrees of secrecy. An image file creating section creates an image file including image areas with the sender's digital signatures provided by the digital signature providing section and a sending section sends the image file to a receiving section. A digital signature acquiring section acquires receiver's digital signatures for restricting image areas to be presented to a user. The AHSA has two to-be-engaged portions, i.e., a first to-be-engaged portion and a second to-be-engaged portion. Even in the event the engaging portion cannot engage the first to-be-engaged portion, it can engage the second to-be-engaged portion.

    • Embodiments of the present invention provide a rotating disk storage device having a mechanism to reliably retract an actuator into a retraction area in the event that the power supply is suddenly interrupted. A bias chip is embedded in a coil support that supports the voice coil. When a head stays in an access area, the bias chip is away from an end of the voice coil magnet. Therefore, no influence of the magnetic leakage flux is exerted on the bias chip. When the head is in a retraction area, the bias chip is attracted under the influence of the magnetic leakage flux of the voice coil magnet, which thereby produces bias torque causing an actuator to pivotally move in a retraction direction. Accordingly, the bias torque can be utilized as energy for retracting the actuator immediately after power shutdown.
