摘要： A surface treatment method and apparatus therefor for providing wear and corrosion resistance, which includes relatively rotating a modified metallic member to be surface modified and a block, which may be metal only or may include a modifying material (e.g., ceramic or W-C/Co), and generating electrical discharge between the block and the modified metallic member to form a modification layer on the surface of said modified metallic member. If the modifying material is not in the block, it can be supplied via a dielectric bath or spray at the discharge interface. In this manner, the cutting edges of a cutting tool with a complicated shape can be surface modified easily to carry out tool surface treatment which increases a cutting tool life greatly. Cutting and surface treatment can be performed alternately as determined by a controller.

摘要： A rotation control apparatus controller for use with a differential actuator which includes two induction motors and a differential mechanism for producing a constant torque on its output shaft basing on the differential speed of the induction motors, comprises two inverters each located between one of the induction motor and a common power source for the induction motors and having individual voltage/frequency output characteristics. The inverters set separately the voltage/frequency output characteristics of power supplied to the induction motors so as to control the speed of the induction motors separately, thereby controlling the output torque on the output shaft of the differential actuator. And the output shaft of the differential actuator is controlled to constant speeds regardless of the load torque on the shaft basing on the difference of setting frequencies on both inverters.

摘要： In the case of a method and an apparatus for surface treatment for the purpose of providing resistance to wear and corrosion, an altered metal part, the surface of which is intended to be altered, and a block, which may consist only of metal or may contain an alteration material (for example ceramic or W-C/Co), are rotated relative to one another, and an electrical discharge is produced between the block and the altered metal part in order to form an alteration layer on the surface of the altered metal part. If the alteration material is not in the block, then it can be supplied via a bath of a dielectric or by spraying on to the discharge boundary area. In this way, it is possible for the cutting edges of a cutting tool having a complicated shape to undergo a simple surface alteration, in order to carry out tool surface treatment which substantially increases the service life of a cutting tool. The cutting machining and the surface treatment can be carried out alternately, this being established by a controller.

摘要： A differential actuator including a pair of unit actuators enclosed in a housing is disclosed. Rotational shafts of the unit actuators support bevel gears in opposed relation to each other. These bevel gears constitute a differential mechanism conjointly with two differential gears which are interconnected rotatably. 摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a method of forming an outer surface layer which is excellent in corrosion resistance and high temperature oxidation resistant abilities, by using metalloid of silicone and germanium, or metal element such as bismuth for an electrode, so that the a workpiece may be combined with and cooled by the evaporated metalloid. CONSTITUTION:Since a metalloid electrode has a high resistance, several fine electric discharges occur simultaneously over the entire surface of the electrode without discharge at only one position on the electrode. Accordingly, metalloid of silicone and germanium or metal element of bismuth, zirconium, tantalum, etc. is used for the electrode, and electric discharge is carried out in liquid or liquefied gas. Then, the metalloid, etc. having a low heat conductivity, etc. is evaporated while it has an electric charge. Therefore, it is transferred to the outer surface of a workpiece which is therefore subjected to rapid heating and cooling so that an amorphous or fine crystal structure is formed on the outer surface of the workpiece. With this arrangement, an excellent outer layer surface having a high corrosion resistant and high temperature pickle resistant abilities may be obtained.

摘要： A metal mold is prepared by an electrical machining process wherein one of a base metal mold and an upper metal mold is electrically shaped by using an electrode having a desired shape on a surface thereof facing the workpiece, and the electrode then is fitted into the shaped metal mold to make a composite electrode of the two, and if necessary, the opposite surface of the electrode is also shaped. The other metal mold is then electrically shaped by using the composite electrode having the desired shape. With this invention, it is possible to provide a metal mold for thin articles, such as plastic articles.
