    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous casting method for steel which enables manufacturing of a cast slab having little center segregation through both the entire length and the entire width of the cast slab.
      SOLUTION: In a method to apply reduction after bulging on a rectangular cast slab of 150-370 mm thick, the reduction is applied with 2 pairs or more of reduction rolls at a reduction gradient of 1.5-5 mm/m in a first reduction stage where a reduction area covers from the highest upstream of a reduction area in a second reduction stage to a maximum of 6 m to the upstream side. In the second reduction stage, whose reduction area corresponds to a solid phase rate fs in the center of thickness of 0.20-0.95, the reduction is applied with a pair or two pairs or more of reduction rolls, with each rolling reduction amount of more than 15 mm and the reduction gradient of 40 mm/m or more. The total amount of rolling reduction in the first and second reduction stages is less than a thickness equivalent to the bulging.

    • PURPOSE:To establish a continuous casting method, by which a cast slab having sound and high quality without seeing an internal defect of center segregation, etc., can stably be produced. CONSTITUTION:In the continuous casting of a metal, the temp. distribution of the cast slab continuously drawn from a mold 3 opened at the upper and the lower part is made to be the surface temp. at the corner part to the surface temp. at the center part in the width ratio of 0.95-1.1 by heating the ranges from both corner parts to at most 1/10 of the width in the cast slab at the position where dies not influence to the discharged descent flaw of the molten metal from an immersion nozzle in the mold. From just thereafter, rolling reduction is executed to make the range from the corner part in the cast slab to at most 1/10 of the width in the cast slab be the max. 10mm at the one side with one pair of saddle type rolls 10. The rolling reduction is gradulally executed to the center part of the width in the cast slab until the internal temp. at the position of 1/2 thickness of the cast slab becomes the temp. corresponding to 0.1 solid phase ratio, and after the outer surface finally forms to the cast slab having flat rectangular cross sectional surface, the light rolling reduction having 0.5-1.0mm/m is applied at the position, in where the temp. at the position of 1/2 thickness in the cast slab becomes the temp. corresponding to the solid phase ratio of 0.1-0.8.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the uniform quality of a cast ingot scarcely having segregation at the center part by controlling the shape of unsolidified range by electromagnetic force at the time of continuously casting and uniformly executing rolling reduction to the unsolidified range. CONSTITUTION:Molten steel 2 supplied from an immersion nozzle 1 becomes discharging flow 3 toward short sides in a mold. Eddy current 5 is induced by an interaction with static magnetic field 4 impressed to this part to form a current loop. By the interaction between the induced current and the impressed magnetic field, Lorentz force 6 is acted in the reverse direction of the discharging flow to give braking force to fluid of the molten steel. In this result, the molten steel fluid pattern is controlled to the cross sectional fusiform, and in a speed distribution in the cross sectional surface of the ingot, the speed at the center part can be made at larger than the speed of both sides. To the ingot having the unsolidified range developed in such fluid condition, the rolling reduction can be executed according to this solidified shrinkage quantity.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a continuous-cast steel piece having little center segregation in the whole width and length of the piece, and a method for casting the piece. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a continuous-cast steel piece having a rectangular cross section which is pressed by means of a pair of reduction rolls until the inside of the piece is fully solidified after the piece including part not solidified is bulged, wherein the difference between the maximum and minimum thicknesses in the cross section of the cast steel piece after pressed is 4% or less of the average thickness of both short edges of the cast piece. This invention also relates to a method for pressing the cast steel piece under the reduction force 1.5 to 10 times the static pressure of molten steel at the position of the pair of the reduction rolls per pair of the reduction rolls, in pressing the cast steel piece with the pressing amount equal to or less than the bulging amount by means of one or more pairs of the reduction rolls until the inside of the cast steel piece is fully solidified after the cast piece is bulged.
