摘要： A hybrid surgical navigation system for tracking the position of body tissue. The system includes a marker (38) shaped to be mounted subcutaneously to the tissue the position of which is to be tracked. A tracker (32) located above skin level is placed near the marker. A first navigation system integral with the marker and tracker generate data indicating the position of the marker relative to the tracker. A second navigation (40) monitors the position of the tracker. The tracker also includes a transmitter for transmitting data generated by the first navigation system. Based on the data generated by the first navigation system representative of the position of the marker relative to the tracker and the data from the second navigation system representative of the position of the tracker, the position of the marker and tissue to which it is attached is determined.

摘要： A surgical sagittal saw with an indexing head. The saw actuates a blade assembly that includes a bar from which a blade head extends. An oscillating head extends upwardly from the saw head. The oscillating head, in addition is mounted to the saw head to be able to rotate around its longitudinal axis and so that it can move along the saw head. A biasing spring normally holds the oscillating head in a fixed position. When the oscillating head is in the fixed position, the oscillating head holds the blade assembly against a restraining bracket integral with the saw head. Manual force is used to overcome the biasing spring to allow replacement and removal of the blade assembly.

SOLUTION: A blade assembly 52 includes an elongated, flat static bar. The proximal end of the bar is the component of the blade assembly 52 attached to the top surface of a saw head. A blade head 76 has a proximal end base 496 that is positioned at the distal end of the bar. A crown 498, integral with the base 496 and extending forward from the base part 496, is the most distal portion of the blade head 76. The crown 498 is projected forward beyond the distal end part of the bar. The outer distal edge of the crown includes blade teeth 499 that perform actual cutting action.
