    • The present invention relates to a video encoding/decoding apparatus and method. The video encoding/decoding apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a video encoder that generates predicted sub-blocks by predicting sub-blocks into which a macro block is divided, generates residual sub-blocks by subtracting the sub-blocks and the predicted sub-blocks, generates quantized transform coefficients by transforming and quantizing the residual sub-blocks using a transformation scheme which is selected by the size of the sub-block, and generates video data encoded by using different context tables depending on the used macro block and the divided sub-blocks in the case of encoding the quantized transform coefficients with Context-Adaptive Binary Arithmetic Coding (CABAC); and a video decoder that restores information about the division type, motion and transformation type as well as the quantized transform coefficients by decoding the data which has been encoded using different context tables depending on the macro block and the divided sub-blocks and using CABAC, restores the residual sub-blocks by performing the inverse-quantization and inverse-transformation on the quantized transform coefficients following a transformation scheme which is identified by the transformation type information having been restored, generates predicted sub-blocks, on the basis of the motion information having been restored, by predicting sub-blocks which are identified by the division type information having been restored, restores sub-blocks by subtracting the predicted sub-blocks and residual sub-blocks, and restores the macro block on the basis of the restored sub-blocks.

    • Embodiments according to the present invention relate to a method and an apparatus for coding/decoding an image using a high precision filter. One embodiment according to the present invention provides a method for coding/decoding an image, comprising: an image coding step for generating a prediction block of a current block, and transforming a residual block which is generated by subtracting the prediction block so as to generate a frequency transformation block, wherein a different transformation method is used according to a transform unit to generate the frequency transformation block, and then quantizing and coding same into a bitstream; and an image decoding step for extracting information on the frequency transformation block, which is quantized from the bitstream, and on the transform unit, and inverse-quantizing the frequency transformation block that is quantized to recover the frequency transformation block, and inverse-transforming the frequency transformation block to recover the residual block, wherein a different inverse-transformation method is used according to the transform unit that is extracted, thereby recovering the frequency transformation block, and the prediction block is generated from a reference block, which is referenced by a motion vector and the recovered residual block and the prediction block are added, thereby recovering the current block.

    • Disclosed are an apparatus and method for encoding images, and an apparatus and method for decoding images. The image-encoding apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a target block dividing unit which divides a target block of an input image to be encoded into a plurality of sub-blocks in accordance with the positions of pixels; a key block encoding unit which selects a random key block, the size of which is larger than that of at least one pixel, from among the plurality of sub-blocks divided by the target block dividing unit, and performs intra-prediction or inter-prediction on the selected key block; and a non-key block encoding unit which designates the rest of the divided sub-blocks, except for the selected key block, as a non-key block, and performs intra-prediction on the designated non-key block using values of peripheral pixels of the key block decoded on the basis of the key block encoding unit, and values of peripheral pixels of the current block. According to the present invention, spatial redundancy in a block can be efficiently removed, even when the size of a basic block for encoding increases in a high-resolution image-encoding process.
