摘要： The present invention relates to a method and device for image encoding/decoding using arbitrary pixels in a sub-block. The present invention comprises an arbitrary pixel extraction part, a first prediction part, a first subtraction part, a first transformation part, a first quantization part, a first inverse quantization part, a first inverse transformation part, a first addition part, a second prediction part, a second subtraction part, an arbitrary residual pixel combination part, a second transformation part, a second quantization part, and an encoding part. After an arbitrary pixel has been extracted from each sub-block of a current block, encoded, decoded, and restored, the restored arbitrary pixel is used to predict and encode the remaining pixels of the respective sub-block. According to the present invention, encoding efficiencies can be enhanced in the encoding and decoding of images by improving the prediction accuracy when intra prediction is performed on the pixel of a block to be encoded or decoded.

The present invention provides an image encoding apparatus which intra-prediction encodes the current block, for each transform coefficient, in a plurality of intra-prediction modes for minimizing a rate-distortion cost, and outputs a bit stream. The apparatus for encoding the motion vector according to the present invention comprises: a prediction candidate selector for selecting one or more motion vector prediction candidates; a prediction motion vector determiner for determining a prediction motion vector from among the one or more motion vector prediction candidates; and a differential motion vector encoder for calculating a differential motion vector by subtracting the determined prediction motion vector from the present motion vector, and encoding the differential motion vector. The present invention encodes a motion vector by using the prediction motion vector which is more accurately predicted, and reduces the bitrate for encoding information on the prediction motion vector, thus improving compression efficiency.

The image encoding method of the present invention comprises: dividing a sub-block into rectangular block units and encoding the units stepwise so as to output a rectangular encoded bitstream for each sub-block, and encoding a sub-block into square block units so as to output a square encoded bitstream for each sub-block; and computing the encoding cost for a case where at least one rectangular encoded bitstream is included and the encoding cost for a case where no rectangular encoded bitstream is included and then, based on the costs, generating and outputting a bitstream for a macro block by using at least one of the square and rectangular encoded bitstream. This embodiment of the present invention can improve image compression efficiency by being devised to allow efficient encoding of the encoding information which is used when encoding images, and allows the encoding of images through the selective use of diverse encoding formats and decoding formats.

摘要： The present invention relates to an image encoding/decoding method and device using coefficients of an adaptive interpolation filter. The image encoding device of the present invention comprises: a coefficient calculator for calculating coefficients of an adaptive interpolation filter of a current frame; an image encoder for interpolating a reference frame by using the coefficients of the adaptive interpolation filter, and for encoding the current frame by using the interpolated reference frame; a filter flag encoder for generating and encoding a flag with/without a coefficient inserted as a filter flag, based on the coefficient of the adaptive interpolation filter of the current frame; a coefficient encoder for encoding the coefficient of the adaptive interpolation filter of the current frame, if the flag with a coefficient inserted is the filter flag; and a bit-stream generator for generating and outputting a bit stream, the bit stream including the encoded current frame, the encoded filter flag and additionally the coefficient of the adaptive interpolation filter of the encoded current frame. According to the present invention, encoding efficiency or compression efficiency can be improved by reducing a bit amount for the adaptively determined coefficient of a filter, while encoding an image through the adaptive determination of the coefficient of an interpolation filter.

In the image encoding apparatus, each pixel in the current block of an image is encoded before the current block is encoded. The image encoding apparatus encodes an image by using and predicting at least one pixel adjacent to each pixel in a determined prediction direction, wherein the current block has L X M dimensions and the L value is not equal to the M value. According to the invention, the pixels in the block can be predicted from the most adjacent pixel in a spatial prediction direction. Therefore, compression efficiency can be improved by increasing the prediction accuracy of the blocks. In addition, an image can be encoded and decoded efficiently through improvement of the compression efficiency.
