    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carrier for a photocatalyst which is capable of decomposing a harmful organic substance and the like to make it harmless, in a room or else and making the same harmless in the maintenance-free state over a long period. SOLUTION: The carrier for a photocatalyst includes an organic fiber whose surface has a plurality of fine pores and a photocatalyst which is carried with such a thickness as not to fill up the fine pores on the surface of the organic fiber, and the organic fiber has a light permeability. Alternatively, a photocatalyst which is provided with an organic fiber group made by bundling a plurality of organic fibers; a transparent covering material which covers the surroundings of the organic fiber group and which is provided with a plurality of fine pores on its surface; and a photocatalyst which is carried with such a thickness as not to fill up the fine pores on the surface of the covering material. The sheet-like member comprises a net-like sheet member 25 for forming a rough surface on at least one of the surface 21a thereof on the surface finish member 11 side and the surface 21b thereof on the finish surface 1a side and a cement composition layer 23 solidified by solidifying the net-like sheet member 25. At least a part of the cement composition layer 23 is exposed to the surface 21a of the sheet-like member on the surface finish member 11 side and the surface 21b thereof on the finish surface 1a side which are both surfaces of the sheet-like member 21 in the thickness direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for joining upstair and downstair columns together, which can suppress fire spreading up to a position higher than a story floor, by separating a carbonizable layer of the upstair column and that of the downstair column from each other in a joint between the upstair and downstair columns.
      SOLUTION: This structure for joining the upstair and downstair columns 70 and 72 together comprises: a load bearing layer which is composed of wood; an unburned layer 20 which is arranged outside unburned layer in such a manner as to surround the load bearing layer; and the carbonizable layer 30 with a predetermined carbonization thickness, which is arranged outside the unburned layer. The structure has a base which is interposed between an upper end of the downstair column and a lower end of the upstair column. An area, brought into contact with the upper end of the downstair column and the lower end of the upstair column, of the base is positioned inside the outer peripheral edge of the unburned layer. A floor slab 60 is formed outside the base.
