    • PURPOSE:To constantly lubricate a mechanical seal sufficiently by guiding high pressure fluid into a lubrication guidance groove and forming a fluid film on the seal end by forming the lubrication guidance groove having its ends within an abutting range of the seal end and other end in the position displaced in the radial direction towards the high pressure fluid side from the abutting range. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary shaft 31 rotates, a rotational side seal ring 35 fixed to the rotary shaft 31 also rotates integratedly. A stationary side seal ring 55 fixed to a ring holder 53 is propelled rightwards as shown on the drawing by a compression spring 57 and pressed against the rotational side seal ring 35. An O ring 39 seals off the space between a casing 51 and the ring holder 53 arranged movably in the axial direction of the casing 51. In this case, high pressure fluid existing in the outside diameter of the sealed section advances into the inside of a lubrication guidance groove 35c, which is formed on the rotational side seal ring 35, from the section displaced in the outside diameter direction from an abutting range 35s of the lubrication guidance groove 35c. High pressure fluid is guided into the space between the seal ends of the abutting range 35c by relative rotational motion of the seal rings 35, 55 on both sides, so as to form a fluid film.

    • PURPOSE:To provide stable sealing characteristics and improve sealing quality by preventing the occurrence of damage and a stripe of abrasion on the side of a stationary ring opposite to the side of a rotary ring during the rotation thereof. CONSTITUTION:This mechanical seal is so formed that a rotary ring 31 fixed to a rotational shaft 12 and a stationary ring 18 fitted to a casing 11 surrounding the shaft 12 are laid in such a way as opposite to each other in the axial direction of the shaft 12, and the opposite sides of the rings 31 and 18 thereby form a shaft sealing section 34. Also, an annular groove 10 and a communication hole 20 are formed on the side of the ring 18 faced to the ring 31, while a spiral groove 32 is formed on the side of the ring 31 faced to the ring 18. In this case, a fluid escape opening is formed outside the spiral groove 32, and a foreign material existing at a high pressure side, even if the material tries to enter inside, is subjected to a flow of fluid along the outside via the centrifugal force of the ring 31. The foreign material is thus easily discharged to the high pressure side. Or, a fluid escape pocket is formed outside the spiral groove and the foreign material at the high pressure side, even upon entering from the groove 19, can be housed in the pocket.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a static pressure seal which is free from the deterioration through the lapse of years and in which the flow rate in a minute gap does not vary even for the variation of temperature and pressure by independently setting the runner and ring for a ceramics seal having a different linear expansion coefficient and a retainer and ring clamp which hold the runner and ring from the outer periphery. CONSTITUTION:As for a static pressure seal in which the sealed surface between a runner 32 installed on a rotary shaft 13 and an opposed ring 31 is worked to a tapered form, a ring clamp 35 is fitted to the step difference part of a ceramics shaped body in which the outer periphery close to the sealed surface side between the runner 32 and the ring 31 is formed into a small diameter. Further, a retainer 33 is surrounding-fitted from the outer periphery on the large diameter side of the above- described shaped body to the side surface, and the retainer 33 and the ring clamp 35 are connected through an elastic body. Further, each retainer 33 is installed on the rotary shaft 13 and an insert 4 through a turn stop pin 39, and the retainer 32, ring 31, retainer 33 for holding the ring 31 and the ring clamp 35 are set independently. Even if the pressure and temperature of fluid vary, the frictional force between the sealing members is hardly generated.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate affection on a seal surface by foreign matter mixed with fluid into a shaft seal device and provide a stable sealing property. SOLUTION: A casing 1 is provided with a fixed part comprising a fixed ring 6 and an insert 12, a rotating ring 4, a rotating ring holder 5, and a rotating part comprising a rotating ring retainer 3 which is brought in contact with the rotating ring 4 and rotating ring holder 5 at a mating surface 11 and fixed to the rotating shaft 2 with bolts 8. Also the rotating part and fixed part are opposed to each other with a clearance provided in a shaft seal 10, fluid flows from a high pressure side P1 to a low pressure side P2 while keeping the clearance at a constant so as to form a sealing surface. Foreign matter 9 mixed with the fluid is accumulated in a clearance formed by shafts 2 and 3, enters into the mating surface 11, and make the shaft seal surface 10 to incline. Because a grooved sleeve 13 is fixed to the shaft 2 with a spacer 14 and a lock nut 15, multiple interconnecting grooves 20 are provided in the peripheral surface of the sleeve 13, and the grooves 20 are inclined in vertical direction, a pumping effect is given to the fluid by a centrifugal force to flow the fluid from the top to the lower side of the grooves and further upward through the clearance. It also causes the foreign matter 9 to flow upward and out of a system.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of bearing difference between the inner circum ference side and outer circumference side of a seal ring caused by its thermal expansion by forming either one or both of a supporting face of a retainer and a supporting face in the axial direction of the seal ring into an abutting face with the cross section in the circular arc shape. SOLUTION: A seal ring 4 is housed in a recess part formed at a portion opposed to a rotating ring 3 of a retainer 5, and in a recess part inner face 5b, a supporting face 4a in the radial direction is allowed to abut to a supporting face 5a at right angles to the recess part inner face 5b. A supporting face 4a in the axial direction of the seal ring 4 abutting to the retainer supporting face 5a is formed in the circular arc shape, and an abutting part of its supporting face 4a in the axial direction to the retainer supporting face 5a is brought into line contact. A radius Ro at a fulcrum 52 of the contact is constituted so that it is located in the middle of an inner radius R1 and an outer radius R2 of a nose 53 in a seal part 60. By this, one-sided abrasion of the rotating ring 3 can be prevented.
