    • PURPOSE: To decide the life of a battery easily by displaying the life of a battery by the angle of hands at the time of non-measurement in a hand-type stop watch or a chronograph.
      CONSTITUTION: In the hand type stop watch or the chronograph, a buttery life detecting part 6 for generating the voltage of a power supply battery, a battery life display circuit 5 for generating pointer handling pulses corresponding to an output contents from the detecting part 6, etc. are formed. At the display of battery life, a switch 36 is turned on under the status that the switch 12 is OFF. Consequently, the output BLDM of a control circuit 4 is turned to '1', the circuit 5 outputs an inverted pointer handling pulse '01' and an indicator '1' is driven at an angle corresponding to the inverted pulse '01'. When the battery life is normal, the indicator '1' stops after moving by 15 steps and in case of abnormal status, it stops after moving by three steps. When the switch 36 is turned off, the circuit 5 detects the abnormal status on the basis of the inverted signal 'SW' and restores the indicator 11 to the initial position.

    • PURPOSE:To realize the power saving function of rendering the power consumption zero dispensing with any crown stopper by arranging an external operation switch to provide an input signal based on the frequency of turning ON or OFF and then fixed at the OFF position after the inputting is performed for specified times. CONSTITUTION:When an external operation switch 6 is turned ON or OFF again before an oscillation controlling circuit 8 is reset with the rising of a frequency dividing circuit at 1Hz, Q outputs of FFs 8a and 8b go to '0' and '1' respectively. Furthermore, when the switch 6 is turned ON and OFF again before it is reset with the rising of the dividing circuit at 1Hz, the Q outputs of the FFs 8a and 8b move to '1' and '1' respectively while the output of a NAND gate 8c goes to '0'. As a result, an NMOS5 for cutting the power source of an oscillation circuit 1 connected to the output of the gate 8c and a PMOS 12 for fixing the output of the oscillation circuit 1 at VDD level are turned OFF and ON respectively. Thus, the power source of the oscillation circuit 1 is cut and the output level is fixed thereby stopping the action of the oscillation circuit 1 with the power consumption of zero.
