摘要： Embodiments relate to methods and compositions for controlling excess water production for hydrocarbon recovery. According to an embodiment, the method includes a treatment fluid composition. The treatment fluid composition includes a monomer and a latent acid. The treatment fluid composition is introduced downhole where it is positioned in a water-bearing region of a hydrocarbon-bearing formation. An acid catalyst is formed by hydrolysis or decomposition of the latent acid in the water-bearing region. The acid catalyst is used to polymerize the monomer to form a resin. The resin blocks water from permeating from the water-bearing region into the wellbore.

摘要： Gelled hydrocarbon fracturing fluids and their methods of preparation and use are provided. The gelled hydrocarbon fracturing fluid includes a hydrocarbon fluid, a phosphate ester, a crosslinker and a viscosifier. The crosslinker may include iron, aluminum, or combinations thereof and the viscosifier may include clay, graphite, carbon nanotubes, metallic oxide nanoparticles, and combinations thereof. The method of preparation includes combining a hydrocarbon fluid, phosphate ester, and crosslinker to form a baseline fluid. A viscosifier is added to the baseline fluid to form a gelled hydrocarbon fracturing fluid. The method of use includes treating a subterranean formation by contacting a subterranean formation with a gelled hydrocarbon fracturing fluid and generating at least one fracture in the subterranean formation.

Treating a subterranean formation includes introducing the fracturing fluid into a subterranean formation, and crosslinking the fracturing fluid in the subterranean formation to yield a crosslinked fracturing fluid. The crosslinked fracturing fluid mitigates damage caused by substantial amounts of total dissolved solids or significant water hardness.

Treating a subterranean formation includes introducing the fracturing fluid into a subterranean formation, and crosslinking the fracturing fluid in the subterranean formation to yield a crosslinked fracturing fluid. The crosslinked fracturing fluid has a viscosity of at least 500 cP for at least 80 minutes when the gel is subjected to a shear rate of 40 s -1 at a temperature in a range of 300°F to 400°F.

摘要： A fracturing fluid including an aqueous base fluid having total dissolved solids between 100,000 mg/L and 400,000 mg/L, a polymer, a crosslinker, and at least one of a free amine and an alkaline earth oxide. In one example, the fracturing fluid may include a hydroxypropyl guar, a Zr crosslinker, and either a free amine such as triethylamine, or an alkaline earth oxide such as magnesium oxide. Optionally, the fracturing fluid may include a nanomaterial. Suitable example of a nanomaterial includes comprises ZrO 2 nanoparticles. The viscosity and viscosity lifetime of fracturing fluids with polymer, crosslinker, and either a free amine or an alkaline earth oxide are greater than the sum of the effects of the individual components taken separately. This synergistic effect offers significant, practical advantages, including the ability to reduce polymer loading to achieve a desired viscosity, and the ability to achieve better formation cleanup after the fracturing treatment.

The method further comprises adding a VES and one or more of a nanoparticle viscosity modifier or a polymeric modifier to the desulfated seawater.
