摘要： (1) A process for producing a pure organophosphorus alkyl ester compound represented by general formula (1), which comprises esterifying a reaction mixture formed by the reaction between a dichlorophosphine derivative and (meth)acrylic acid with a lower monohydric alcohol, and purifying the formed reaction mixture through neutralization with an alkali metal hydroxide or an alkaline earth metal hydroxide in the form of a solid or an aqueous solution thereof; (2) a process for producing a pure organophosphorus hydroxyalkyl ester compound or a solution thereof in an alkylene glycol, which comprises conducting transesterification between the pure organophosphorus alkyl ester compound obtained by the above process (1) and an alkylene glycol; (3) a reactive flame retardant comprising the pure organophosphorus alkyl ester compound obtained by the above process (1); and (4) a reactive flame retardant comprising the pure organophosphorus hydroxyalkyl ester compound or the solution thereof in an alkylene glycol obtained by the above process (2). The process (1) is easy to conduct and provides a high yield because the reaction product is purified in a liquid state. The obtained pure alkyl and hydroxyalkyl esters are free from the problem of discoloration when used as a comonomer component of a polyester resin. Therefore the reactive flame retardants (3) and (4) comprising these pure esters are suitable as reactive flame retardants for polyester resins and so forth.

Process 1 &cir& is expedient and insures a high yield because a liquid compound is purified. From the purified alkyl ester obtained by process 1 &cir& , a purified hydroxyalkyl ester or the alkylene glycol solution of the ester can be easily produced by transesterification according to process 2 &cir& . The purified alkyl ester and hydroxyalkyl ester do not cause resin coloration when used as a comonomer in polyester production. Therefore, the reactive flame retardants 3 &cir& and 4 &cir& comprising these purified compounds are of great use as reactive flame retardants for polyester resin.

摘要： A water-absorbent resin is prepd. by cross-linking the surface region, by treating and reacting (A) a water-absorbing resin contg. a COOH gp. and/or a salt gp., with a cross-linking agent in presence of (B) an organic solvent with dielectric constant of at least 25, 1-8 wt.% of water w.r.t. (A), (C) a cross-linking accelerator, and (D) a polyglycidyl cpd. with at least 3 glycidyl gps. as cross-linking agent. Pref. a liq. mixt. of (B), water, (C) and (D) is sprayed onto (A), or is added dropwise to (A) with stirring and mixing. Alternatively, (A) is treated with a liq. mixt. of (B), water, (C) and (D). The ratio by wt. of (B):water is 6:4-1:9, and the mixt. of (B), water and (C) is 2-10 wt.% w.r.t. (A). Cross-linking is at 100-180 deg C. (B) The component is ethylene glycol and/or di- or tri-ethylene glycol. (C) The component is a thiol cpd., a mono-amino cpd. or a carboxylic acid, and the ratio by wt. of (D):(C) is 1:0.01-1. (D) The component is polyglycerol polyglycidyl ether (pref.), pentaerythritol polyglycidyl ether or sorbitol polyglycidyl ether.
