    • A method and system for handling security synchronization for prolonged periods of no-reception of voice frames. The method includes receiving one or more protocol data units (PDUs) by a radio link control (RLC) sub layer and determining a time period between the receiving of each PDU and a previously received PDU by the RLC sub layer. Further, the method includes initiating recovery procedure for the time period exceeding a first predefined time. The recovery procedure includes identifying count of the one or more PDUs to be recovered, deciphering each PDU using a plurality of hyper frame numbers (HFNs) and updating a master HFN based on the deciphering. The master HFN deciphers each PDU among the one or more protocol data units. Further, the method also includes delivering the one or more PDUs to a packet data convergence protocol sub layer where type verification of the PDU is performed.

    • A method of reporting measurements from a user equipment 4 for use in a wireless network 2 having a plurality of carrier frequencies is described. It comprises at the user equipment 4: receiving a first message indicating that a measurement report is required by the network; generating a trigger in dependence on a measurement result relating to a first carrier frequency; determining a selected cell preferably a best cell for each carrier frequency; and dependent on the trigger and receiving the first message, sending a second message to the wireless network the measurement report, wherein said measurement report includes the selected cell for each carrier frequency measured by the user equipment. The measurement report may exclude carrier frequencies for which signals are only measured from a serving cell. The first message may indicate the carrier frequencies to include in the report. The selected cells may be chosen on the basis of a measurement quantity such as received signal power. A wireless node which transmits a message to a user equipment 4 comprising a single on/off indicator is also disclosed, the indicator indicating that a measurement report is required, and that it should include all frequencies the user equipment is currently measuring.
