    • The present invention provides a protective drain seal for use in mounting a vessel to a platform. The drain seal includes a seal which permits the vessel to be mounted to the surface of the platform, as well as providing a protective barrier between the platform and the drain assembly. The drain seal includes a first member defining a first lumen there through and including a first flange surrounding the first lumen. A second member defining a second lumen and having a second flange surrounding the second lumen is additionally included, wherein the first and second members are engagable. The drain seal is positionable through a hole in the platform such that the first flange forms a seal between the vessel and the platform.

    • The present invention provides a kit for affixing a drain assembly in a drain port in plumbing fixture. The drain assembly includes a drain ring affixed to a drain pipe. The drain pipe is positionable through the drain port in a bottom surface of the plumbing fixture, such that the drain sink abuts the upper surface of the plumbing fixture. The drain pipe extends through the drain port, past an underside surface of the plumbing fixture surrounding the drain port. A drain nut is rotatably fastened onto the drain pipe. The drain nut includes a first and second of bore therein. A drain nut driver tool is provided, which includes first and second extensions for engaging the drain nut. The drain nut driver tool engages the drain nut by removably positioning the first and second extensions in the first and second of bores of the drain nut. The drain nut driver tool is engagable by a driver unit, activation of which rotates the drain nut onto the drain pipe.

    • A method and apparatus for reformatting a main storage device associated with a computer system. The storage device is reformatted by making use of a secondary storage device on which is stored a copy of the data stored on the main storage device. A reformatting process is run on the secondary storage device while the main computer system continues normal operation. When the reformatting process is completed, the secondary storage device is updated with the updates that were made on the main storage system while the reformatting process was run on the secondary system. Thereafter, the reformatted and updated data is either transferred to the main storage device, or the main storage device is physically replaced with the secondary storage device. In another aspect, non-standard programming techniques are employed to provide access to non-configured disc drives coupled to an AS/400.

    • A control system for a revolving door includes an ultrasonic sensor having multiple sensor heads. The door has a housing and multiple movable compartments formed by door wings. The sensors emit energy waves into the housing in bursts, then receive echoes from any objects, including people, in the compartments. The sensors are activated when the door is activated by an authorized user. A controller stores a binary "echo" or "no echo" signal in memory in response to an emitted energy wave. The system determines a maximum height of an object or person in a compartment, then measures the total amount of time that it detects something above a selected percentage of the maximum height. When this time reaches a predetermined amount, the system interprets that as "piggybacking" (two individuals in one compartment). The system also interprets signals that go above, drop below, and then rise above the selected percentage again as piggybacking.

    • A control system for a revolving door includes an ultrasonic sensor having multiple sensor heads. The sensors emit energy waves into the housing in bursts, then receive echoes from any objects, including people, in the chambers. The sensors are activated when the door is activated by an authorized user. A controller stores a binary "echo" or "no echo" signal in memory in response to an emitted energy wave. The memory is formed by multiple arrays, each array having a column associated with a particular sensor and used for storing echo signals from a particular ultrasonic burst. Each bit in a column represents incremental ranges of objects from the sensor head, and the controller stores the "echo" or "no echo" signal in an appropriate bit based on the elapsed time from the preceding burst. To avoid interference from reverberations, the burst cycle time is varied, the amount of time following each burst is sufficiently greater than the time for receiving an echo from the floor of the housing so that reverberations will die down, and multiple arrays of echo data are filled with corresponding results and ANDed together to form a results array. The controller uses the results array to determine whether there is an object in an unauthorized chamber. The system also ignores signals which are given from the top of a door wing passing by a sensor head.
