    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress a toner once melted on a recording medium due to excessive heat quantity from being re-melted at a position in a fixing device where filaments are overlapped with each other.SOLUTION: Since a temperature detection element cannot be provided at a position f' where filaments f of a central heater 12 and end heaters 13 are overlapped with each other, and a fixing device has a small thermal capacity, the fixing device is susceptible to turn-on of the heaters. In order to prevent abnormal images as an influence of excessive temperature rise, when a temperature of the temperature detection element is higher to some extent than a default preset temperature of the temperature detection element used for temperature control of the central heater 12 and the end heaters 13, the present temperature itself is decreased. When a temperature of the temperature detection element is higher than the preset temperature in feeding A3-size paper during which the central heater 12 and the end heaters 13 are used, the present temperature is decreased so as to suppress excessive temperature rise at the position f' where the filaments f are overlapped with each other.
