    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner which emits no foul odor because of efficiently reduced amounts of a decomposition product of a reaction initiator, residual solvent, etc., excels in thin line reproducibility, has cleaning performance, has uniform particle diameter and has a narrow particle size distribution, a method for manufacturing the same, and an image forming apparatus using the obtained toner. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing the toner for electrostatic charge image development comprises: at least a step of dissolving and/or dispersing a toner composition consisting essentially of a resin and a colorant in an organic solvent; a step of emulsifying and dispersing the resultant solution or dispersion in an aqueous medium in which a fine particle dispersant is present; and a step of removing the organic solvent from the resultant emulsified dispersion in a hermetically sealed solvent removal tank, wherein at the organic solvent removal step, the emulsified dispersion in the tank is bubbled by supplying an inert gas from the bottom of the tank in an amount of 1-30 vol.% per min based on the amount of the emulsified dispersion to increase the gas phase contact surface area of the emulsified dispersion, whereby the gas phase contact surface area of the emulsified dispersion is made larger than a horizontal cross-sectional area of the tank.
