    • The present invention relates to a powder lacquer containing a mixture of(A) a polyisocyanate component in power form which is solid below about 40.degree. C. and liquid above about 150.degree. C. and(B) a organic polyhydroxyl component in powder form which is solid below about 40.degree. C. and liquid above about 150.degree. C.,components (A) and (B) being present in quantities corresponding to an equivalent ratio of isocyanate groups to hydroxyl groups of about 0.6:1 to 1.2:1, characterized in that component (A) is based on a polyisocyanate or polyisocyanate mixture which(a) does not contain any blocking agents for isocyanate groups,(b) has a content of free isocyanate groups (expressed as NCO) attached to tertiary, aliphatic or cycloaliphatic carbon atoms of about 8 to 24% by weight and an average NCO functionality of at least 2.1,(c) has a urethane group content (expressed as --NH--CO--O--) of about 3 to 30% by weight and(d) has an isocyanurate group content (expressed as C.sub.3 N.sub.3 O.sub.3) of 0 to about 30% by weight.The present invention also relates to the use of this powder lacquer for the production of coatings on heat-resistant substrates by methods known in powder lacquer technology.

    • The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyurethanes suitable for use as thickeners for aqueous compositions by reacting at an NCO/OH equivalent ratio of 0.9:1 to 1.2:1a) a polyether component having an OH number of 10 to 30 mg KOH/g and obtained by the alkoxylation of a mixture ofa1) 30 to 80 mole % of a monofunctional alcohol or alkylphenol having 8 to 30 carbon atoms,a2) 2 to 10 mole % of sodium hydroxide or potassium hydroxide,a3) 10 to 60 mole % of water anda4) 0 to 10 mole % of a trihydric to hexahydric alcohol having a molecular weight of 92 to 600, with ethylene oxide or a mixture of ethylene oxide with up to 20 mole %, based on the total moles of alkylene oxides, of propylene oxide, in which the percentages of a1) to a4) add up to 100,withb) a polyisocyanate component containing at least one organic diisocyanate, optionally in admixture with up to 20 mole %, based on the total moles of component b), of higher than difunctional polyisocyanates.The invention also relates to the polyurethanes obtainable by this method and their use, optionally in combination with other thickeners, for the thickening of aqueous systems.

    • A honing machine for super finishing workpieces, e.g. by honing using a tool spindle (7), can be rotatably driven and can receive a tool. A motor rotates the tool spindle, the tool spindle (12) being arranged on a carriage (12), which can be displaced on a machine frame (16), by means of a drive device, in the direction of the rotational axis of the tool spindle. The drive device consists of a flat primary part (13) and a secondary part (17) of an electric linear motor (18), the secondary part being linearly displaceable along the primary part. One (13) of the components primary part/secondary part (13, 17) of the linear motor (18) is disposed on the machine frame (16), and the other (17) on the carriage (12).
