摘要： An adjustable, locking all-suture anchor assembly includes at least one suture strand and an all-suture anchoring element. The suture strand has a suture first end and a suture second end, wherein the suture first end includes an enlarged capturable structure and the suture second end is free and accessible for manipulation by a medical practitioner. In use, the suture first end is held in or by the all-suture anchoring element through inclusion of the enlarged capturable structure and the enlarged capturable structure functions to anchor the suture first end in relation to the all-suture anchoring element and retain the suture first end in position relative to the all-suture anchoring element when the suture second end is pulled.

摘要： A suture anchor is described which in one form may be easily fabricated from extruded material by angular cuts and bore holes which provide an offset pulling force to the suture. In an alternate and preferred embodiment the suture anchor is injection molded having an annular displaced corner and abutment wall which act to seat the suture anchor firmly within a bore hole. Novel application means are also disclosed which hold the suture anchor on a frangible shaft for insertion and upon completion of the insertion permit fracture of the frangible portion and removal of the instrument.

摘要： A tissue repair has at least two attachment points for a suture to create a broad area of contact between tissue in bone. When two anchor points are used, the suture extends between and is attached to the two attachment points to create a suture band. When two on more attachment points are used, a first anchor point in the bone has one or more loops. The first anchor point is preferably located on a medial location at the repair site when performing rotator cuff repair. For other types of repair procedures, the first anchor point is different and located as required. The loop or loops are passed through the soft tissue at points spaced from one another. The loop or loops are then captured and secured at anchor points laterally during rotator cuff repair and spaced from the first anchor point and from one another. When complete, the loop or loops are in the form of a “V” and a large area of contact between the soft tissue and bone is established. When more than two loops are used, each loop extends from the first attachment point to another attachment point.

The assembly allows for an endoscopic or open surgical procedure to take place without the requirement of tying a knot for reattachment of tissue to bone mass.
