摘要： In an embodiment, an access network monitors traffic, associated with a radio bearer of a given type (e.g., a radio bearer expected to be associated with delay-sensitive and/ or high-priority communication sessions), between a user equipment S lJE) in a dedicated-channel state (e.g., CELL_DCH state) and an application server that is arbitrating a communication session between the UE and at least one other UE. Based on the monitored traffic, the access network selectively transitions the UE away from the dedicated-channel state. For example, if traffic on the radio bearer of the given type is detected before expiration of a timer, the UE can be permitted to remaining in the dedicated-channel state. Alternatively, if no traffic on the radio bearer of the given type is detected before expiration of the timer, the UE can be transilioned away from the dedicated-channel state (e.g., into CELL_FACIl CELL_PCTl or URA_PCH state).

A UE and a PN may each establish a first connection with an AN and, based on the first connections with the AN, establish a second connection with each other. Similarly, features of the present disclosure provide techniques for conditional handover transition from a PC5 connection back to Uu connection when conditional handover execution criteria are met (e.g., sidelink signal strength between the two UEs falls below a channel condition threshold). Additionally, the techniques provided herein support for conditional handover of the relay UEs from a first base station to a second station while the relay UE is further supporting one or more remote UEs.

The first UE sets up support for transport of traffic of a second type over the unicast link. In another aspect, instead of tunneling the traffic of the second type over the same unicast link, the first UE sets up a second unicast link for traffic of the second type with the second UE, with the unicast links having a shared link management status.
