摘要： An alkali-free aluminoborosilicate glass preferably with a thermal expansion .alpha..sub.20/300 of about 3.7 .times.10.sup.-6 /K, an annealing temperature OKP of above 700.degree. C., a treatment temperature V.sub.A of less than 1220.degree. C., and very good chemical stability, which can be produced in a float unit and has the following composition (in % by weight based on oxide): SiO.sub.2 52-62; B.sub.2 O.sub.3 4-14; Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 12-20; MgO 0-8; CaO 4-11; BaO 0-2; ZnO 2-8; ZrO.sub.2 0-2; SnO.sub.2 0-2. The ratio of Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 /B.sub.2 O.sub.3 is preferably equal to or greater than 3. The glass is especially suitable for use in display technology.

摘要： Reducing melt borosilicate glass having a UV transmittance of at least 85% for ultraviolet radiation having a wavelength of 254 nm for a sample thickness of 1 mm and a water-resistance of less than 100 micrograms, advantageously less than 62 micrograms, Na.sub.2 O per gram of glass powder according to ISO 719 and a thermal expansion coefficient .alpha..sub.20/300 of from 5 to 6.times.10.sup.-6 K.sup.-1 and comprising from 58 to 65% by weight SiO.sub.2, from 18 to 20.5% by weight B.sub.2 O.sub.3, from 8.1 to 10.4% by weight Al.sub.2O.sub.3, from 0 to 1% by weight CaO, from 0 to 2% by weight BaO, from 0 to 2% by weight SrO, from 0 to 1.5% by weight Li.sub.2 O, from 5.5 to 8.5% by weight Na.sub.2 O, from 0 to 3% by weight K.sub.2 O and from 0 to 2% by weight fluorine. The glass has a composition, in mol %, of: SiO2 60-70; Al2O3 10-13; B2O3 0.0-0.9; Li2O 9.6-11.6; Na2O 8.2-less than 10; K2O 0.0-0.7; MgO 0.0-0.2; CaO 0.2-2.3; ZnO 0.0-0.4; ZrO2 1.3-2.6; P2O5 0.0-0.5; Fe2O3 0.003-0.100; SnO2 0.0-0.3; and CeO2 0.004-0.200. Further, the composition complies with the following relations and conditions: (Li2O+Al2O3)/(Na2O+K2O) greater than 2; Li2O/(Li2O+Na2O+K2O) greater than 0.47 and less than 0.70; CaO+Fe2O3+ZnO+P2O5+B2O3+CeO2 greater that 0.8 and less than 3, where at least four out of the six oxides are included. The glass exhibits a modulus of elasticity of at least 82 GPa and has a glass transition point below 540° C. and/or a working point below 1150° C.
