摘要： A distribution system for the distribution of digital telephony data streams for use in a building or facility which uses, as a communication link, AC power lines (105) is described. This distribution system communicates signals and data without the need for continuous telephone lines. This system provides a base unit (104) connected to a subscriber interface unit (102), which in turn is connected to a public communication network. The base unit (104) further provides an AC power line interface (105) over which communication signals are communicated to extension units (106a, 106b, ..., 106e). The extension units (106a, 106b, ..., 106e) support standard user telecommunication devices, such as telephones, switchboards, facsimile machines, and modems. The preferred embodiment of this invention uses a FSK encoding/de-coding scheme to support the communication of the digital signals and to improve system quality, reducing errors and having higher noise immunity.

摘要： A method and system for the reception, conversion and distribution of wireless signals over AC power lines (104) to one or more telephone communication devices (103) within a building, office or complex (100) is disclosed. This invention specifically provides for the reception of PCS, cellular and/or satellite communication signals, by receiving the wireless signal and providing an interface to standard generally available telephone equipment (103). By making use of the power line carrier channel, this invention provides for the reception of the wireless signals upon telephone equipment that is located in the building or complex (100) in locations remote from standard telephone wiring. Moreover, by distributing such received wireless signals over the power line (104) a number of telephone devices can be used to receive the distributed signals. This invention allows existing, or previously installed, telephones (103) to communicate over and with wireless communication devices and provides a way to distribute these signals using power line telephone distribution methods, without requiring a change in existing wired telephone equipment.

摘要： A method and system for the reception, conversion and distribution of wireless communication signals received from such communication devices as PCS, Cellular, and Satellite over AC power lines commonly found within a building, office, home or other structure (101) is disclosed. This invention specifically provides for the distribution of wireless signals in structures where otherwise signal degradation and/or blockage are common. Moreover, this invention takes advantage of the existing AC power lines to create a communication channel avoiding the necessity of rewiring the building or other structure. This invention provides important improvements to the signal coverage and reception of wireless transmitted signals within buildings and other structures (101) and does so in an efficient and cost effective manner.
