    • PURPOSE:To obtain an anode having excellent durability in a Cr plating bath particularly containing organic additives by arranging plural layers of intermediate layer and surface layer of tin oxide, etc., on a basis body of bulb metal (alloy). CONSTITUTION:On the basis body composed of the bulb metal of Ti (alloy), etc., heating treatment is executed under oxidizing atmosphere after applying the solution containing tin compound to form a first intermediate layer composed of tin oxide. On the first intermediate layer, heat treatment is executed under oxidizing atmosphere after applying the coating solution containing platinum compound and tin compound or iridium compound in these to form a second intermediate layer containing the metallic platinum and the tin oxide or iridium oxide in these. Successively, further, on the second intermediate layer, the heat treatment is executed under oxidizing atmosphere after coating the coating solution containing platinum compound and tin compound having different composition from the second intermediate layer or iridium compound in these, and by forming the surface layer containing the metallic platinum and the tin oxide or the iridium oxide, the anode is manufactured.
