    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plating method in which, while the hydrogen occluding characteristics of a hydrogen storage metal are sufficiently remained, stable plating coating is executed on its surface and to provide a method for producing an electrode in which the surface is coated with a catalytic metal for executing a prescribed reaction such as hydrogeneration to activate the surface of the hydrogen storage metal, and the reaction area is moreover increased so as to furthermore increase the reaction efficiency and the reaction rate. SOLUTION: The surface of a hydrogen storage metal body occluding hydrogen is brought into contact with an electroloes plating soln., the metallic cations in the electroless plating soln. is reduced by an active hydrogen desorbing hydrogen storage metal, and the surface of the hydrogen storage metal body is plated with a metal. Furthermore, one face of the hydrogen stored metal body to be applied with plating is brought into contact with an electrolytic soln. to form into a cathode, and the electrolytic soln. is electrolyzed between it and an anode to generate hydrogen, which is occluded into the hydrogen storage metal body, the other face of the hydrogen storage metal body is brought into contact with an electroless plating soln., and the surface of the hydrogen storage metal body is plated with the metal by active hydrogen separated from the hydrogen storage metal. In this way, the electrode can be produced.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrolytic method by which even the corresponding hydrogen reaction rate can be contained in a hydrogen reaction chamber and the current efficiency of hydrogen reaction with respect to the electrolytic current for generating hydrogen can always be maintained at a high value, at the time of enhancing the electrolysis rate to enhance the hydrogen generation rate, and also to provide an equipment for this method. SOLUTION: This method comprises: dividing the equipment for this method into an electrolytic chamber 3 and a reaction chamber 4 with a hydrogen occlusion metal member 2; performing electrolysis of an electrolytic solution with one surface of the hydrogen occlusion metal member 2 as a cathode, by passing a current through the electrolytic solution between this cathode and an anode 5; occluding hydrogen generated by the electrolysis in the hydrogen occlusion metal member 2; and continuously subjecting the occluded hydrogen and an objective substance(s) to be treated to catalytic reaction on the other surface of the hydrogen occlusion metal member 2 to perform hydrogenation or reduction reaction of the objective substance(s) with the occluded hydrogen; wherein, as the equipment for the electrolytic method, an equipment provided with a porous catalyst layer 10 on the surface for catalytic reaction of the hydrogen occlusion metal member 2 is used, and this porous catalyst layer 10 is formed by reducing metal actions in an electroless plating solution with active hydrogen obtained through desorption of the occluded hydrogen in the occlusion metal, to plate the hydrogen occlusion metal member 2 with the metal derived from the metal actions.

    • PURPOSE: To enable to discharge or reutilize a treated water by electrolyzing a cyanide-containing water to execute the recovery of metals contained in the cyanide-containing water and the decomposition of a cyanide and an organic material and irradiating with ultraviolet ray to simultaneously treat the cyanide and the organic material for a short time. CONSTITUTION: In an electrolytic vessel having an insoluble anode and an insoluble cathode, the ultraviolet ray irradiation is applied when the cyanide- containing water is electrolyzed to execute the recovery of the metal contained in the cyanide-containing water and the decomposition of the cyanide and the organic material. At this time, as the insoluble anode, an insoluble electrode made by forming an electrode catalyst composed of a lead alloy, lead dioxide or an alloy of platinum group metal or an oxide of platinum group metal on a electrode base body is used. And as the insoluble cathode, iron, nickel, copper, chromium, aluminum titanium, these alloys, one made by applying platinum thereon, carbon or graphite is used. Further the electrolysis is executed while irradiating the cathode with ultraviolet ray or the treated water passing through the insoluble cathode is irradiated with ultraviolet ray.
