    • An inexpensive capacitor for pulse generation whose characteristics do not deteriorate even when the capacitor is used in a high temperature, high vacuum, reducing atmosphere, and which enables generation of high-voltage pulses over a wide temperature range. The dielectric body 1 of the capacitor is constructed of a non-linear dielectric ceramic which exhibits resistance to reduction. The non-linear dielectric ceramic comprises a polycrystalline substance containing barium titanate as a primary component, and when the polycrystalline substance is represented by (1−a−b)ABO3+aM+bR wherein ABO3 is a barium titanate component and represents a perovskite structure, M is an oxide of at least one element selected from the group consisting of Mn, Ni and Co, R is an oxide of at least one element selected from the group consisting of La, Ce, Nd, Pr, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er and Yb, and a and b represent mole fractions; A, B, a, and b satisfy the following relationships: 1.000≦A/B≦1.006 (mole ratio), 0.3≦b/a≦3, 0.0015≦a≦0.0050, and 0.0015≦b≦0.0050, and a total content of M and R represented by Ad satisfies 0.3

    • A high voltage capacitor used for a low-pass filter circuit or the like in a magnetron oscillator circuit of an electronic cooking range includes in combination, a capacitor unit, a ground terminal into which the unit is inserted, two perforating conductors inserted through two through-bores extending in the capacitor unit, insulating casings encircling the capacitor unit on both sides of the ground terminal, insulating resin disposed in both of the insulating casings and surrounding the capacitor unit, an electrode at the outer periphery of the capacitor unit, and electrodes at the inner periphery of each through-bore which surround and are conductively coupled to each perforating conductor. When compared to a conventional high voltage capacitor, the present invention has a reduced number of components, is simple in construction, and is not subject to a lowering of the breakdown voltage durability caused by a heat cycle or the like.

    • The invention offers a superconducting coil that has the shape of a pancake formed by winding a superconducting conductor. The superconducting conductor is composed of a tape-shaped (Bi, Pb)2223-based superconducting wire and a tape-shaped thin-film RE123-based superconducting wire that are electrically connected in parallel with each other. The coil generates only a low voltage in the steady-operation state, limits the generated voltage to a low level even in a state where an external disturbance enters for some reason, and is therefore less susceptible to quenching. Consequently, the coil can be operated stably in both states. The invention also offers a superconducting conductor to be used to form the coil.
