摘要： A plurality of picture image data obtained from a film in one film handling operation by a film scanner with the automatic film feeding function are output as prints by a digital printer and also as files in a recording medium by a file outputting device. In the system for providing the above two kinds of output services, the numbers of film scanners, file outputting devices, and digital printers are determined so that the processing performance of each kind of apparatus in a unit time times the number of each kind of apparatus is almost the same, to make each kind of apparatus comprising the system demonstrate its full performance. A medium image obtaining device for obtaining an image file recorded in a medium and a digital camera image obtaining device may further be provided so that the above two outputting services are promptly provided for a picture image such as a processed image recorded in a medium and brought into a service provider by a customer and a picture image recorded by a digital camera, whereby one system can carry out film reading, image obtaining from a medium or a digital camera, picture print generation, and writing a picture image in a recording medium.

摘要： A stimulable phosphor sheet, on which a radiation image of an object has been stored, is exposed to stimulating rays, which cause the stimulable phosphor sheet to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon during its exposure to radiation. The emitted light is detected by a photoelectric read-out device, and an image signal representing the radiation image is thereby obtained. Threshold value processing is carried out in accordance with the obtained image signal, and a prospective abnormal pattern is thereby detected from the radiation image. A predetermined threshold value, which is used in the threshold value processing for detecting the prospective abnormal pattern, is set to be a small value as the amount of change in the image signal corresponding to the region in the vicinity of the prospective abnormal pattern becomes large.

Stimulating rays are made to pass through a beam diameter adjusting device, and the level of the stored radiation energy is detected. The beam diameter of stimulating rays is expanded by the beam diameter adjusting device as the level of the stored radiation energy decreases. In a radiation image read-out and reproducing method, a photosensitive material is exposed to a recording beam modulated with the read-out image signal for recording the radiation image thereon. The recording beam is made to pass through a beam diameter adjusting device, and the beam diameter of the recording beam is expanded by the beam diameter adjusting device as the level of the stored radiation energy decreases.
