With this configuration, it has been achieved to manufacture a highly reliable organic EL display apparatus in more simplified process.

摘要： Disclosed is an image display apparatus having a construction such that ultraviolet rays irradiated from a second substrate side are prevented from propagating through a first substrate to reach its display area by providing a picture-frame resin film for shielding ultraviolet rays on that area of the first substrate that is to be sealed to the second substrate with a sealant. Thereby, when the sealant for sealing the substrates is cured by irradiation of ultraviolet rays, photo deterioration of organic materials constituting emitting layered products and semiconductor layers constituting active elements both of which are formed on the display area may be prevented, and a high-reliability and high-performance image display apparatus may be realized.

摘要： An OLED display device having a laminate encapsulating structure containing: an OLED substrate having a leading wire and a pixel area which carries a number of OLEDs on a glass substrate; and an encapsulating plate; and a filler filling a space between the OLED substrate and the encapsulating plate, wherein the filler is dispersed with a desiccant and fine metallic partides for improving electroconductivity and thermoconductivity. This structure not only can prevent an inflow of moisture into the OLEDs and secure a mechanical strength of the OLED display device as a flat panel display device, but also accelerate a heat radiation and improves electroconductivity of a conductive layer.

摘要： In a display panel each of whose pixels has an electron emission element equipped with a pair of electrodes and an insulation area isolating these electrodes, the present invention specifies that the power supply line (scan line) connected with one of the pair of electrodes shall be formed thicker than the other electrode by screen printing using silver (Ag) paste or the like, and the power supply line and the one of the electrodes shall be connected together through an intermediary of the auxiliary electrode formed thinner than the power supply line, whereby a resistance of the power supply line is decreased, a voltage drop in the one electrode is controlled, and reliability of electrical connection between the power supply line and the one electrode is heightened.

摘要： An upper bus electrode is formed as a laminated wire of a metal film lower layer, a metal film intermediate layer and a metal film upper layer. Al lower in electrode potential is used as a low resistance material for the metal film intermediate layer of the upper bus electrode, while Cr high in heat resistance and oxidation resistance and higher in electrode potential than Al is used for the metal film lower and upper layers disposed as upper and lower layers. Al and Cr are selectively etched so that the metal film lower layer projects on one side and has an undercut on the other side with respect to the metal film intermediate layer. Thus, when the upper bus electrode has a structure using a laminated wire made of metal high in heat resistance and oxidation resistance, and metal low in resistance and sandwiched in the metal high in heat resistance and oxidation resistance, so as to separate an upper electrode from upper electrodes by self-alignment, deformation of the undercut portion due to oxidization of a side surface of the low-resistance metal is suppressed to improve the self-alignment separation characteristic of the upper electrode.

摘要： A cap surrounding projection is formed on an outer periphery of a light transmitting cap substrate simultaneously with the formation of pixel separation banks. A surrounding recess is formed at a position, opposed to the cap surrounding projection, on a substrate provided with emitter elements, the projection and the recess being joined through a sealant with an absorbent arranged therein. With such a construction, it becomes possible to efficiently take out light from an emitting layer and to highly accurately seal the substrate provided with the emitter elements and the light transmitting cap substrate, thus realizing an organic electro-luminescence device of high reliability.

摘要： An image display device according to the present invention comprises a back panel on which a plurality of pixels each having a thin film electron emitter are arranged two-dimensionally, a front panel disposed opposite the back panel on which phosphor layer is formed, and a sealing frame with which the back panel and the front panel are fixed mutually to seal the plurality of pixels and the phosphor layer in a space enclosed by the back panel, the front panel, and the sealing frame, and is characterized in that double-layered signal lines each electrically connected to a group of the plurality of pixels are formed on the back panel, each of the double-layered signal lines consists of a lower-level electrode made from a silver paste and an upper-level electrode covering at least a part of the lower-level electrode laminated in this order on the back panel. The lower-level electrode is shaped e.g. by coating a groove formed in a surface of the back panel with the silver paste, and a surface of the upper-level electrode is used e.g. for an electrode of the thin film electron emitter, also. According to the configuration, the present invention reduces wiring resistance of the signal lines each electrically connected to the thin film electron emitters as well as improves planarity of each tunneling junction of the thin film electron emitters to suppress dispersion of electron emission property thereof among the pixels.
