    • A photographic light-sensitive material which has on a support at least one silver halide emulsion layer containing large-size silver halide grains formed in the presence of at least one compound acting as a silver halide solvent and having the following general formual (I): ##STR1## wherein l and m each represents an integer of 2 or 3; n represents zero or an integer of 1 or 2; and R.sup.1 and R.sup.5 may be the same as or different from one another, each being an alkyl group, a hydroxyalkyl group or carboxyalkyl group, and when n equals zero, at least one of the substituents of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4, must be a hydroxyalkyl group, while when n does not equal zero, at least two of the substitutents of R.sup.1 to R.sup.5, must be hydroxyalkyl groups. Use of the compound of the present invention results in emulsions exhibiting excellent reproducibility with respect to gain sizes of silver halides.

    • In the presence of a novel antifoggant represented by the general formula (I), a silver halide photographic material which has at least one light-sensitive silver halide emulsion layer on a support is development-processed. The developing solution is one containing both dihydroxybenzenes and 3-pyrazolidones, a developing solution containing both dihydroxybenzenes and aminophenoles, or a developing solution containing a primary aromatic amine developer to suppress markedly fog generation at much reduced sacrifice of sensitivity: ##STR1## wherein M represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, NH.sub.4 or a mercapto group-protecting moiety which can be split-off in the presence of an alkali; n represents 1, 2 or 3; R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or --COOR.sup.2 ; and R.sup.2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkali metal atom, NH.sub.4, or an unsubstituted or substituted alkyl, aryl or aralkyl group.

    • A photothermographic material including an image forming layer containing at least a photosensitive silver halide, a non-photosensitive organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on the same surface of a support, wherein the photothermographic material contains a compound having an adsorption group to silver halide and a reducing group, or a precursor of the compound, and satisfies one of the following conditions: 1) the photothermographic material contains a development accelerator; 2) the non-photosensitive organic silver contains silver behenate in an amount of not less than 80% by mole, and the binder has a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 45° C. or less; or 3) the photothermographic material contains at least one compound represented by the following formula (H); Q-(Y)n—C(Z1)(Z2)X wherein, in formula (H), Q represents an alkyl group, an aryl group or a heterocyclic group; Y represents a divalent linking group; n represents 0 or 1; Z1 and Z2 each independently represent a halogen atom; and X represents a hydrogen atom or an electron attracting group.
