      SOLUTION: The acid corrosion resistant steel has a composition comprising, by mass, 0.001 to 0.2% C, 0.01 to 3.0% Si, 0.01 to 3.0% Mn, 0.001 to 0.3% Al, 0.01 to 2.0% Cu, 0.01 to 2.0% Cr and 0.01 to 0.2% Co, in which the content of P is regulated to ≤0.035% and the content of S is regulated to ≤0.030%, and, if required, further comprising prescribed amounts of one or more kinds of elements selected from the group consisting of Ni, Mo, W, Sb, Sn, Se, Pb, Nb, V, Ti, Ta, Zr, B, Mg, Ca, Y, La and Ce, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities.
