    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head gasket capable of providing good sealing performance by self sealing effect and of being easily manufactured. SOLUTION: A first and a second full beads 2a, 3a projecting toward a third seal plate 4 at a center are provided on a first seal plate 2 and a second seal plate 3 comprising a cylinder head gasket 1, and the first and the second full beads 2a, 3a construct an adhesion part 8 strongly adheres on the third seal plate 4 and sealing combustion gas. The third seal plate 4 is provided with a hemming part 10. A space 9 is formed by the hemming part 10 and the adhesion part 8. A slit 10a providing communication between a combustion chamber hole 5 and the space 9 is provided on the hemming part 10. When combustion gas flows in the space 9 via the slit 10a, the first seal plate 2 and the third seal plate 4 are pressed in a vertical direction by self sealing effect.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head gasket maintaining excellent sealing performance for a long period of time by minimizing elastic deformation of a cylinder block.
      SOLUTION: The cylinder head gasket 1 clamped between a cylinder head 2 having a cylinder bore 4, and the cylinder block 3, is constituted by laminating a thickness adjusting plate 10 with a combustion chamber hole 14 bored in the position of the cylinder bore 4, seal plates 11-13, and a shim plate 17. The end, opposite to the combustion chamber hole 14, of the shim plate 17 is folded toward the combustion chamber hole 14, and the thickness of the cylinder head gasket is increased with a folded part 17a compared with the other part. Since the folded part 17a increases the thickness of that part, the cylinder head and the cylinder block can be joined to the folded part 17a firmly to each other. The deformation of the cylinder block caused by the explosion pressure of an engine can thereby be suppressed to prevent a fall of sealing performance and to reduce oil consumption.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cylinder head gasket for maintaining good sealing performance for a long period.
      SOLUTION: The cylinder head gasket 1 comprises at least one first seal plate 11 to be held between a cylinder head 2 and a cylinder block 3 having a cylinder bore 4. The first seal plate has an uneven porion 11b formed ranging over between a position on the side of a combustion chamber hole beyond at least an opening portion of a water jacket 5 and a position beyond an edge 5a of the opening portion on the side of the combustion chamber hole while being protruded on the surface and reverse of the first seal plate. When the cylinder head gasket 1 is held between the cylinder head 2 and the cylinder block 3, the uneven portion 11b is locked to the edge 5a. Thus, the uneven portion 11b can firmly lock the cylinder head and the cylinder block to each other and its locking force can suppress the deformation of the cylinder block due to the explosive pressure of an engine, thereby preventing the degradation of sealing performance and reducing the consumption of oil.
